We are a retired couple who have been coming to Barbados for over forty years. We love the island for the perfect climate, the beautiful beaches and clear, warm turquoise sea, the friendly, laid-back and helpful people and the safe environment. We have been to the island on over fifty occasions and always look forward greatly to our visits and are always sorry to leave despite living in a lovely part of England.

Why John Chadd chose Saint Lawrence Gap
It is brilliantly situated only a few metres from the sea and in the centre of St Lawrence Gap with it's great range of restaurants and other attractions. There is a well stocked convenience store next door and a supermarket a few hundred yards away. The apartment overlooks the secluded Mistle Cove beach and the famous Dover Beach is less than five minutes walk away. It would be hard to imagine a better situated apartment building than Mistle Cove.

Loved our stay here at St. Lawrence Gap . So much to do here and so many places to eat at. John was so helpful his place is a wonderful place to stay. Very spacious apartment with everything you would need just loved it and the view was out of this world..... just gorgeous!
Great location, easy access to everything!
We had a great time in Barbados. The apartment was located in the middle of the "Gap". Easy walk to restaurants and bars.
Steps to the water, and a short walk Dover beach we would definitely recommend this place!
Fantastic apartment in great location
We had an amazing holiday at St Lawrence Gap made all the more special with our beautiful apartment. Communication was excellent, Orissa and Greg from the agents couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. The apartment was wonderful, clean, spacious an absolute joy to stay in. At one side is a great range of bars and.restaurants, offering a great evening out whilst at the other side a stunning private beach and.gardens.It really is 2 worlds in one location. Perfect for an.escape to paradise and vibrant evening. Couldn't recommend enough, can't wait to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mistle Cove and were impressed by John's communication and efficiency. The apartment is spacious, tastefully decorated and well-equipped with comfy beds and great air-conditioning in the bedrooms if the heat gets too much! It is secure, the grounds are well-tended and everything was really clean. The people at Rex Realty who welcome you and deal with any issues were professional and helpful. There were turtles laying almost every night on the little beach, and hatchlings on one night. We were delighted to see that the restaurant next door showed a real concern for their welfare.The apartment is in the middle of St Lawrence Gap and really convenient, and we found it hard to believe that there was all the nightlife on one side of the apartment and turtles on the beach on the other. It is really easy to travel up and down the West coast by bus/ minibus, as the service is very frequent and cheap, if a little hair-raising at times.
This was important as the South-West coast was badly affected by seaweed while we there and Dover Beach was virtually deserted. We did swim off the Mistle Cove Beach where there was somehow less seaweed, but the waves were sometimes quite big. All the locals say the seaweed is seasonal and it did appear to be clearing when we left. Worthing Beach was also closed due to a sewage problem, but it is 10 minutes in a minivan to Carlisle Bay where the water and the snorkeling were fantastic.
Hand soap and toilet paper was provided in the apartment when we arrived, but nothing else. Basic supplies like a bit of washing liquid or a few dishwasher tablets would be very welcome: we took our own teabags from home. There is a convenience store next door, but be prepared for some eye-watering prices! The best supermarket is Massy Stores at Worthing, where you can amazingly buy a full range of Waitrose products (at a price). Great pool towels were provided in the apartment but if towels are important to you, take a couple, as the bath towels were on the small side. Make sure you take heavy duty mosquito repellent if you want to sit outside in the evenings: there were some anti-mosquito devices in the flat but we couldn't get them to work.
We thoroughly recommend a stay at Mistle Cove: we had a great holiday and it makes a fantastic base for exploring the island. Thank you John!
Wonderful property in a great location on St Lawrence Gap. Close to bars and restaurants, but not effected by the noise of these at all. The property is lovely and is a real home from home. Loved watching the turtles nest on the beach at night, a real privilege. The owner John arranged for a taxi to pick us up on arrival and also advised of a good car hire company. Barbados and its people are wonderful, very friendly and hospitable. We dived extensively with Barbados Blue, fantastic dive centre and had the boat to ourselves most of the time - never seen so many turtles. Highly recommended.
Top sights to be seen in Barbados include the Crane Beach, Bathsheba and the rugged East Coast, A day out in one of the catamarans such as Tiami or Cool Runnings is another treat not to be missed!!
