We Loved this quaint cabin! The owner goes the extra mile!

  • 5 of 5

Never have we stayed in a place that was this welcoming! The cabin was well kept, clean and comfortable. Too short of a stay in this lovely cabin. Everything you need and want for a beautiful stay in the mountains. Great location and easy access to everything you need. We used the crock pot so we could have dinner waiting for us after a long day out. Nice large kitchen with beautiful counter. Comfortable leather sofa in the living room, nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Very well maintained. We enjoyed the hot tub and the wrap around decks.

Great cabin and we will recommend it to our friends. Thank you also for sending me a list of activities, in the area. No one has done that before and we used many of your recommendations. Loved the place!! We have stayed at multiple locations (cabins) in the area and by far this one is the best.

Not what we thought

  • 1 of 5

This place was in a nice location and had a beautiful first impression outside. As we got closer and walked in, to our dismay, the place was filthy. The floors hadn’t been swept from previous visitors, or mopped. I also happened to find the previous guests pants next to a coffee table, YUCK!! The guy acted as if he hadn’t seen his place since the last people left. He was trying to make up for it by cleaning, but after taking three small kids over 4 hours we just wanted to settle in, not wait for him. The fridge had old food in it from previous guests. The banister on the stair was jerry-rigged with thin pieces of wood, no screws, had the babies pushed hard enough they would have fallen down the stairs. The pool table downstairs had pool sticks that were not usable and when mentioned to the owner, he told us they have new tips, we told him the new tips did not fit properly, he just told us those were the same tips as he had bought previously. We did not want to argue, but he was obviously misinformed. The pool table was also disgustingly dirty with no brush to clean it. The laundry room was full of utility tools that were easily accessible to small children. This was super dangerous, as we have a toddler who is very into everything and can open doors no problem. There should have been a child safety lock on the door or something to prevent small children from getting in there. The bed downstairs was so unstable, people should not be sleeping on it until it is corrected. The linens were NOT WASHED! I had to do four loads when I got there, of just linens. The bathroom in the downstairs was gross. I didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower. There are no bath tubs in this house. That would have been nice to know as we have super small children. The tile flooring was really poorly done and super abrasive on your feet. The parque was coming up everywhere in this house. We were disappointed to say the least. I believe this place should have a better description and should definitely be fixed up before more guests are allowed to stay here.

Owner's Response: The truth is I am a nice guy The previous guest had just left that same day. The next scheduled guest said they would arrive some some time after 2p, or later,, depending. Check in time is 1;30p, I got there around 12;30ish, to find them already there. No big deal. I greeting them and reminded them that the previous guest had just left. We all went in together. I said gosh, looks like maybe this place could use just some cleaning up first. They said no problem we were going to go shopping at walmart first anyway. Great, ok I went downstairs and cleaned the bath there. While in the meantime they decided to unload there stuff.. As they were doing that I indeed finished with cleaning both bathrooms. Then I told them now the kitchen floor,, it seems to me anyway,,, can also, use some moppin up, no?? They said, nah, no problem we can take care of that. So be it, wished them a happy new year and on my way I go. Later on that same evening i receive a text, that the pool stick, or "rather the tips"" on them are no good, to which i responded i have more, told them where they are. They found them and then texted again,, now saying that the pool sticks themselves are no good. I responded Oh?? OK I will take a look online and check that one out too. To which they responded back, ""Good Deal"". End of story, no other complaints,, never said another word. UPshot, they at the very least, did wash the linens that they used just as had the previous guest done before they left the place. This courtesy rule is clearly stated in my house courtesy rules as I courtesy to the next guest if your going to be using our linens. As well as keeping the house clean. So, some are not so compliant with that one,, SO WHAT,, Maybe they were running late, I don't just throw people out like some guest have complained to me that other cabins do. Seemed to us, afterwards my cleaning person also, that they really truly did indeed have a good time of it. Thank you, Blessed New Year

Pictures must have been taken a few years ago. Cabin showing signs of wear. Upon arrival had tofind sheets to make bed, bed only had a bedspread on it. Bed was three feet high with no stool to help you get in, for a 72 year old this created a real challenge. The cabin had no continuity of decor. Bathroom upstairs seemed to have mold around the base and the floor tiles were very worn. Plants in the cabin and out side were not tended. Porches were very uninviting, had throw rugs hanging over the rail, cobwebs and just seemed dirty. On the plus side they allowed our pet. We will not rent again. We have been visiting and renting cabins for the past 28 years and rate this one disappointing.

Owner's Response: Hi So sorry, Just this, some people it seems are moved by ill will. Guess they are just hard wired that way. Perhaps going around renting cabins in the area for 28 years, they also may have worn out there stay at the others. Disappointed

Weekend of memories

  • 5 of 5

Jimmy the owner, super nice guy! Our family decided to take a long weekend and not realizing it was also Rod Run weekend . He was able to accommodate the dates we needed. The cabin was clean and very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the hot tub after a long day at Dollywood. Its a bit of a drive to pigeon Forge , about 45 minutes but it's well worth it. The area is just beautiful .I Highly recommend this cabin if your wanting to get away for peace and quiet and relaxation .
