History, luxury and true desert beauty converge. Originally built in 1965 by one of America's leading scientists from World War II, the two bedroom, one bath, 1,000 square foot guest house is part of a two acre desert 'compound' that is one of only a handful of homes situated within a 160 acre gated community now known as Rancho Soldados.
Fully remodeled in 2014, the house features a full kitchen, a cozy fireplace (indoor and out), wood floors, vaulted ceilings and a spacious bath. The master bedroom is furnished with a comfortable Simmons Beautyrest king sized bed, desk and a large walk-in closet. The guest room houses two memory foam twin beds. Linens are available if the living room couch is needed to sleep a fifth person.
The guest house is situated far enough from the main residence (approx 100') that guests can choose to enjoy their own privacy. Guests enter via a private entrance and can choose to sit on a private patio facing the Catalina Mountains or enjoy the beautiful rear courtyard (shared with the main residence) featuring a large swimming pool (which can be heated ask for details), an in ground hot tub (kept as hot as you like) that comfortably sits 5+ people, an outdoor BBQ and chiminea (stocked with as much wood as you care to burn).
The owners do live in the main house, but are rarely home Monday through Friday and on and off over the weekend.
Located approximately 20 minutes east of Tucson in the lush Tanque Verde Valley, Rancho Soldados is a gated community surrounded by true, natural desert beauty with sweeping mountain views of both the Catalina and Rincon mountain ranges.
Less than three miles from the base of Mt Lemmon, two miles north of Saguaro National Park (east) and less than a mile to both Agua Caliente Park and Forty Niner Golf & Country Club (open to the public). Partake in Tucson's most popular biking community, hike, horseback ride, golf or sightsee all day long, then choose from a wide variety of high quality, local restaurants all within a short drive.
