An Absolute Treasure with a Gracious Host in the Heart of San Ant

  • 5 of 5

The care and dedication that the owner puts in this property is immediately apparent as soon as you arrive and if you're anything like us you'll fall in love with the property too. We stayed for six weeks over the summer while moving from Germany to Texas and Brett went out of his way to be welcoming and make the move as easy as possible. The home is family friendly with just the right mix of antique charm and modern conveniences. The antique furnishings (claw foot tub and antique dressers) blend well with high speed internet, 3 HD TVs with cable (HBO,STARZ,SHO), fantastic laundry facility, etc., Brett is very responsive to any issues and just very considerate in general. Of course it goes without saying that the well maintained pool provides an excellent opportunity to rest and relax in the evenings and we're going to miss it in our new home. We will definitely be booking this property for all our visiting friends & family whenever they come to town.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Vacation Treasure

  • 5 of 5

Love, love, loved this vacation treasure! In town to attend my niece's HS graduation and this was the perfect spot for family coming in from out of town. The property is gorgeous and is located in a university community. The place was clean, stocked kitchen (pots, pans, coffee maker etc.), nice vintage touches throughout, washer & dryer, air conditioner, TVs in every room, Wifi, clean towels, clean sheets & blankets, and super comfy beds. The property owner was very nice and responsive. Similarly, the maintenance person who lives on the propoerty with his family was really helpful and welcoming. There is a community garden down the street where you can pick fresh spices and veggies, we used ours for a couple of super yummy meals. A plus was the backdoor to our unit opened up to the awesome swimming pool at the back of the property. We spent lots of time swimming, cooking, and catching up with family. Had a small gathering during our stay and everyone raved about this amazing find. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice and clean apartment with a lot of characters and thoughtful detail.

Brett showed us everything and my husband specially liked the gas stove. We enjoyed the pool and relaxing outside in the beautiful garden. We already booked our next stay and looking forward to be soon again.

Enjoyable stay

  • 5 of 5

This house is conveniently located near downtown San Antonio and the freeways. My husband, 17 yr old son and I stayed here for a week on vacation. Each bedroom and the living room has a cable TV, which prevented a problem if someone was up early or late or wanted to watch a different program. The kitchen is equipped with a nice refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, pots/pans, etc. Previous guests had left spices, condiments, coffee, etc. We used some that was there and left some that we bought. Check the cupboards before you grocery shop. Making breakfast or dinner and relaxing at "home" made this trip more enjoyable. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with a raindrop shower head. The towels are big and fluffy. The rooms have louvered blinds, which can be a problem for those that are light sensitive in the mornings. The sun doesn't come in the bedrooms but the rooms do lighten up. The pool is great for lounging in (there are noodles and floating pads) or sitting on the edge and soaking your toes. My husband and I put our feet in one evening while talking with another couple who was renting another unit on the property. We enjoyed being able to talk with them in a quiet private setting. A washer and dryer are provided for your use, which was wonderful. I was able to go home and not have to worry about doing "vacation" laundry. According to Brett, the owner who lives upstairs of this unit, the train is not supposed to blow its whistle in the area but we did hear it at night on two different occasions. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and hearing the birds at the birdhouse outside brought a smile every morning. We rarely heard Brett upstairs when he was there. It was nice to know he was around should we have a problem and he's funny, enjoyable and wiling to share his knowledge of the area when you talk to him. Brett takes pride in his property and is continually working to improve the units. I recommend this rental (and his other units here) if you are in the area.
