Overview

About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, large living area, ocean view and large pool

This large, spacious and stylish ground level home has recently been remodeled in a fun and beachy mid century theme. The home features all tile floors, 4 king beds, 32 inch flat screen tvs in all bedrooms, a large 60 inch flat screen in the huge living room, new furniture, luxury linens and towels, a fully equipped kitchen, and six rocking chairs on the front porch looking at the Atlantic ocean. The private, large pool can be heated and also features a hot tub. A misting system of essential oils has been added around the patio and pool to deter mosquitoes and noseeums. Unique to this property is plenty of parking space for your boat, trailer and vehicles. The home is in a secluded residential private setting in the heart of Marathon. The canal is private to the two rental homes on the property with a large docking area that has a fish cleaning station and running water.

Three kayaks, paddles and life jackets are provided and are shared with the neighboring house from a floating dock in the canal.

This property also has a second 3 bedroom rental home with its own pool which can be rented together as a family compound if there is availability.

The location is ideal for weddings and other family celebrations.

Great house and amazing property manager!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Tarpon House and thought that Kim was simply amazing! She did everything to make sure our stay was the best (including delivering a DVD player to us one night). She told us all about the area and has printouts available telling you about EVERYTHING! House is very spacious and decorated in a great beach vibe. So convenient to everything, yet you feel totally secluded on the big piece of property.

Lots of wildlife--We had a manatee visit the canal one day, a family of iguanas that roamed the house, and a huge heron that perched on the dock every morning. The pool is nice and so much bigger than most rental houses have. There were plenty of towels, a few floats, a corn hole game, commercial ice maker, etc.

Only draw back is that to access the Atlantic you do have to get in a boat or kayak as the neighbors at the end with the Atlantic access have No Trespassing signs posted everywhere. Also, the kitchen tools need to be replaced. Not a sharp knife to be had! We had to go buy a filet knife at Kmart in order to cut fish.

Owner's Response: We loved having you here! Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have you all back soon. I am sharpening knives as we speak!!! It is my goal that your stay with us is fun and memorable. I work hard to ensure your vacation in Tarpon House, Yellowtail House and Grouper House are the best they can be. There is so much to see and do here and I want you to know about it all!

Tarpon House - Can't say enough good things!

  • 5 of 5

We took our daughters and their friends, 7 of us total plus our dogs and we couldn't have stumbled on more of a gold mine in Tarpon house. First it started with our experience in dealing with Kim and your assistant, they made sure everything was easy to book and the place was ready and waiting for us. Kim even offered to meet us and show the house but we got hung up and told her no need! First the property is amazing, we had a boat, 3 cars and Labs that love to run so the size of the property fit us perfectly. We had high expectations for the house after seeing the photo's and reading other reviews and I can certainly say the pictures are very good but the house is even better when you get there. Everywhere else we stayed in the Keys tends to be very vertical and this house, being a ranch was such a delight and the spacious family room/dining room was great to hang out and play games/watch TV etc after a long day on the water.. The Kitchen was well stocked and we had room to cook and often had 4 or 5 of us and dogs of course wanting to help! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious and enjoyable to stay with tons of closet space especially in the master. So here is a list of so many pro's but useful items when you come to the keys that make this property a must visit:

-Commercial Ice Maker - wow I can't even guess how much this saved us, in fact Kim this made us realize we are getting one for our home!

- Great boat parking in canal, protected and easy in and out to ocean, fish cleaning station and lights plus water to clean out boat.

-Gas Grill

-Cleaned out garage to park a vehicle and out of the sun!

-Cold, Functioning and I would guess new AC

-large Pool and hot tub

-King size beds in all rooms!

-easy to clean floors - dog owners know what I mean!

-large,large lot with lots of parking, boat trailer and more!

-House colors - my wife and daughters just loved the decor!

-Great location in Marathon, not far from anything especially public boat ramp, bait shops etc

Now here is the only thing I will make a minor complaint which is not much but just so you know how real this review is. Access with a boat is tough, not exactly a left turn off main road and technically you have to you u-turn and the curb is tight on trailers but shouldn't deter you from staying here, the upside is it's so obscure of entrance it's way private!

Love, love, love this house!!!

  • 5 of 5

This house was stunning, clean, and very spacious! It was a little hard to find because there is no street sign for the road, but once we did find it all 6 of us enjoyed every day we spent in it! We will definitely be back!

Nice house in great location

  • 4 of 5

Overall it was a nice place, but the layout was a little odd. Had to go through one bedroom to get to the shared bathroom. OK for kids, but a little awkward for all adults. Very clean with lots of items to enjoy the stay. Pool was awesome. Access to the water was great

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This place is amazing! We had 8 adults, a baby, and a dog and it accommodated us perfectly. The canal is deep and is easy access to Vaca Cut. The property is huge with plenty of space for cars and trailers. The pool is perfect after a long day on the boat. There is also a garage with a bait freezer and an industrial size ice maker; that is worth its weight in gold in the Keys. We have stayed in several different places in Marathon and Islamorada and will definitely be back to this house soon.
