I, a lifelong resident of the Etna region and geologist, will be happy to offer suggestions about what to do and see in the area, either by yourselves or with tailor-made excursions, up on the Etna and within the East coast of Sicily.

Great stay! Would definately recommand
Nice house with giant living-/cooking area and big terras with sunscreens. Private parking area. We went in September and the weather is so perfect in this location that you don't need aircondition: it cools down in the evening. There is always a cool (not cold) breeze that makes everyday warm instead of hot. The host Angelo is super, always respected our privacy but also checked in on us regularly, providing us with towels, home made marmalade, fresh bread and great advice for sightseeing, shopping, climbing the Etna, swimmimg etcetera. He will definately leave you in peace, but he is also there for a good talk in the evening, if you want some company. We especially enjoyed the places near the coast such as Seracusa, Noto and Taormina but the Byzantian Village is also worth a trip. Lot's of Greek/Romain remains in the area to go see. The only downside for us were the many barking dogs in the area, that's something you have to get used to at night. The beds are pretty hard and if you want to cook in the house, the kitchen is a little low on supplies. But whatever you may need: Angelo will make a real effort to arrange it for you.
