Classic Maine cottage. Comfortable & clean. Just a short walk to the beach.
Enjoyed our stay in this quaint and quiet cottage. Very nice classic Maine cottage within an easy walk to the beach. Lovely.
Faily vacation at Hidden Gem
This "Hidden Gem" really IS a hidden gem! The cottage is so comfortable and bright- perfect for relaxing and fun! It is close to Long Sands, just a quick walk up the road, but still in a quiet neighborhood. Loved our vacation there-can't wait to get back!!
Great week in a great cottage.
We were greeted by Patience who showed us around the cottage. It looks bigger than in the pictures. Everything was nice and clean and perfect for our family of 5. Everything we needed was there. Short walk to the beach and trolley. The kitchen was nicely equipt. The outdoor shower was very convenient and the kids loved it. Would definitely rebook in future years.
The cottage was so inviting, cozy and within walking distance of all that's important: the beach, ice cream and good food! It was wonderful to return from the beach everyday and have a BBQ in the spacious yard. Our family thought it was a great family vacation and this is high praise!
Definitely a hidden gem!
Laura greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around. She was very accommodating and the house was spotless. Great nautical decorations without being too cheesy and everything looked clean and modern, though not everything was recently updated. The kitchen/dining area was open and bright and had everything we needed for our week long stay. We only used 2 of the 3 bedrooms, but they were the perfect spaces for our family. The small backyard was great for our daughter to play in while we grilled and the outdoor shower was amazing. Probably our favorite part of the house! We only used the indoor shower 2 or 3 times during our stay. The neighborhood is quiet and it is an easy walk to the beach with stair access right at the end of Webber Rd. There's also a trolley stop there, which we frequented. Overall, it was a fabulous stay and we can't wait to visit York again. We actually forgot a few things in the freezer and realized it before we left town and Laura was kind enough to let us return to get them, chat with us for a while and ask us for some feedback and suggestions. I highly recommend staying at Our Hidden Gem!
fab cottage - spacious, comfortable, chic
Five of us, age 12 to 75, had a marvelous week here. We walked the 2 blocks to the wide sandy beach with a view of Nubble Lighthouse; toured both a distillery & brewery, submarine and naval yard; had lobster & other yummies in a different fantastic restaurant every night; kept our balance on the Wiggly Bridge; shopped in nearby Portsmouth and Ogunquit; played skeeball & ate fudge & taffy in York. However, we were quite happy in the beautifully decorated, fully appointed, spacious, airy cottage. Loved the outdoor shower and picnic table (perfect for displaying our Maine rock collection).
