About Peter and Sarah
We feel in holiday mode as soon as we arrive in Broadstairs. We love seeing our daughter run free on the beach - such a change from the busy roads of London where we live. We first came to Broadstairs on daytrips from London, meeting friends who live here. It gave us the widest smiles to just be here. So, after we had our son and had settled down a bit in London, we looked for a way to be able to come to Broadstairs as a family more often, and we were really thrilled to find this lovely cottage. We love it and we hope you will be as enchanted with it as we are.
Why Peter and Sarah chose Broadstairs
Forge Cottages is newly built, so it's warm and cosy, and yet has lovely traditional features like the flint stone wall and archway at the front. It is a really easy walk out of the front door and down just one short road to the seafront, the beach and all the lovely cafes and shops of Broadstairs.
What makes this Cottage unique

Lovely property, great location, helpful information from owner and website
Well located and comfy holiday home.
Enjoyed our short break here and found it to be well equipped and comfortable. Easy walking to beach and town. The owner was responsive in all our communications.
Friendly owner and comfortable and cosy cottage for a perfect short stay.
Peter and Sarah answered all our questions promptly during the booking and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Quiet neighborhood and just 5 minutes walk to the beach. Perfect place for our seaside short break.
Perfect for our needs and five minutes walk from the beach
We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space for us, it had all the facilities we wanted in a holiday rental and the information we received prior to our stay was clear, comprehensive and welcoming.
Lovely property, close to the beach
My family & I have had a second very pleasant stay in Forge Cottage. The house is a short, convenient walk to the beach front & everything that Broadstairs has to offer. The house itself was is very clean & well organised, & the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need.
Thank you to Peter & Sarah.
We would love to return another year!
Thanks for your review.
We would love to welcome you back to Broadstairs.
A lovely week in Broadstairs
The Cottage is modern and well maintained with a well equipped kitchen. The downstairs accommodation is relatively small and although it is possible to seat 6 at the dining table, this would not allow much room between the kitchen and the lounge. The upstairs is more spacious, and the bedrooms are well appointed. The location within the town of Broadstairs and the beach is excellent and the car parking space very convenient. I would certainly stay here again.
Broadstairs is an absolute gem. It’s a friendly, unspoilt, classic seaside village. You might want to head straight to the beach (a walk of a matter of minutes) and enjoy the freedom to run, chase, cartwheel or flop on the sand. Or you might want to wander along the lanes behind the beach, scoping out the cafes and shops or heading straight for the famous home-made ice cream at Morelli’s.
There are lovely sandy beaches all along the coast. Viking Bay is in the centre of Broadstairs, but a short walk or cycle ride takes you to more secluded spots such as Joss Bay, Stone Bay or Louisa Bay. Cycling is easy and family-friendly along the Viking Cycle Route which runs all the way round the headland from Ramsgate to Margate and beyond. There are surf schools, boat trips to see the seals, nature trails, or just looking for shells on the beach and peering in the rock pools.
There is plenty of historical and cultural interest too. Dickens visited and wrote about Broadstairs and there is a Dickens museum in town as well as Bleak House where he stayed. In Margate, there is the Turner Contemporary gallery, the wonderful retro amusement park, Dreamland, and the shops and galleries of Margate Old Town. There are lots of festivals of live music, theatre and creative arts in Broadstairs through the year with plenty of activities to entertain children, from the famous Folk Week to the period costumes of the Dickens festival.
There seems to be a blossoming of new places to eat in Broadstairs, with great quality food in lovely settings. These sit alongside local treasures that have been in town for generations, such as the wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, Osteria Pizzeria Posillipo, with the best pizza and sea views in town.
