About Kimberly Horton

We are a newly married couple that is in love with the Rocky Mountains and all of the things that Summit County has to offer. We put our heart and soul into the renovation of this unit because we want it to feel as much like home for us and especially our guests. We wish for you to enjoy our little piece of Colorado Heaven as much as we do.

Kimberly Horton purchased this condo in 2014

Why Kimberly Horton chose Silverthorne

We have invested in this property because we know the feeling of sitting in the traffic on I-70 when making the drive from Denver during the ski season. We have decided to make this unit available and affordable to those of you who have had the same white knuckling experience that we have when trying to make it to the mountains on an epic powder weekend.

What makes this condo unique

Very affordable with minimum stays of two to three days depending on the time of year.

A very charming condo with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at this condo. The view from the den was breathtaking! The condo is adorably decorated and they supplied everything you might need for cooking a meal. Breckinridge and Frisco are just a short drive away and the trail head to Lily Pad Lake is just up the road. It was a perfect choice for our family of five for a long weekend!

A nest in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a great week long summer vacation here. The apartment has everything that you could need, and nice views over Silverthorne and Lake Dillon. There are two trailheads just up the road, Lily Pad Lake and Buffalo Mountain. Lily Pad Lake is an easy hours hike, the kids love the tame chipmunks that eat out of your hand, the lake itself is very beautiful and tranquil. Buffalo Mountain is a more challenging hike, about 7 miles and pretty steep and rocky near the top. The views and mountain goats are great though!

Take a look at alltrails.com for great information on these and the multitude of other trails in the area.

The town of Silverthorne has shopping (mostly outlets) and a nice rec center with indoor pool but not too much else, it seems more to be a stop on I-70. However, Dillon is close as well as Frisco, which is worth a visit. We rented a canoe from Frisco marina to explore Lake Dillon, the highlight being getting up close to a Bald Eagle, and the chance to explore uninhabited islands.

Silverthorne is quite close to Breckenridge (20 minutes) & Vail (25-30 minutes), both towns are very nice. Breckenridge is a little more 'earthy', Vail quite upmarket. If you're into hiking, Shrine Ridge Trail near Vail is worth a look. To be honest, there are so many trails that it's impossible to list them all!

One last thing, there is a clubhouse with some pool tables, air hockey, arcade games etc available. It's pretty nice but needs a little updating, some of the equipment is a little beaten up. There is also a fairly nice pool, three spas and a sauna right there. Lastly (!), the laundry is by the clubhouse, there are plenty of machines but you'll need a stack of quarters.

All in all, highly recommended and a good value!

Owner's Response: Duncan and his crew were outstanding tenants for the week. They were very respectful of the property, and for that we are very thankful. We would rent to him again and would recommend him to anyone in the future. He is always welcome. When folks rent in Silverthorne during the summer, there are arguably more activities do try than winter time. The Rockies are fun all year round, and Duncan's stay is representative of this fact. We are very happy that his crew took advantage of the many activities a summer vacation in the Rockies can offer.

Cozy little space in the heart of ski country

This condo was the perfect size for our little family of four, and the kids loved the pool and game room. Kim was easy to reach and addressed any concerns we had immediately and graciously. We would stay here again.

Overall great stay in Keystone!

  • 5 of 5

When we first arrived, the maid service had not been through yet (which apparently isn't the first time this has happened). After contacting the owners, they were very quick in fixing the problem and extremely apologetic. That was the only hiccup of our stay, everything else was fantastic!
