Guestbook comments from the manager

We stayed at this rainforest home for 2 nights, Our stay was great - home is very secluded, private, has wood flooring and enough bedrooms/baths. Host has provided a very well equipped kitchen with a lot of added conveniences like basic snacks, condiments etc. Full size washer and dryer were great to beat the constant rainy weather we encountered. Home has been stocked with a ton of fresh towels, space heaters, DVDs, etc to make the guests feel at home. Home is superclose to the Volcano national park. Overall, a very nice home that offers the unique experience of living in the midst of a rainforest.

Beautiful home

  • 3 of 5

It was super easy to rent for a last minute night stay. The home is beautiful, peaceful and serene. However, I did not enjoy the moldey, musty smell it made my allergies flare up and, being that I live on the big island I wanted to leave and, go home. But my husband talked me into staying the night. I would not do it again. Aloha

Great home near Volcanoes National Park

  • 4 of 5

If you're visiting Volcanoes National Park, this is a great place to stay close to the park and any restaurants or stores you may want to visit. It is chilly there (we went in December), so you may need light sweaters/jackets/hoodies, and can be wet/muddy in the area as well. The home has everything you need, including drinking water that is provided. It was cozy and we also tried out the jacuzzi, which was very relaxing. The beds were warm and comfortable. Aside from a very minor problem with fuses tripping, it was wonderful!

Great except for the smell

  • 2 of 5

Great location and the house is as pictured. The coffee maker and kitchen seemed fresh and clean. A nice selection of movies, etc.

However, the house really, really smelled and it bothered me all night long. It was bad enough that it was hard for me to sleep. Maybe mildew? To be fair - it's such a wet area that maybe that's hard to deal with but it definitely was a problem for me. If the smell was dealt with- I would recommend.

How vrbos should be!!

  • 5 of 5

I loved this place. It was clean, great pillows, close to Volcano Village and the National Park. It was well stocked with everything. From shampoo to coffee. Yes, coffee! The house had helpful hints all over so that took any guess work out of appliances or electronics. I just wish we had had more time to enjoy it.

Volcano Village visit end of July 2016

  • 4 of 5

Seventh Heaven is a lovely home nestled in the jungle of Volcano Village ... really, it is a jungle ... I was surprised that the vegetation was so thick at that elevation, but it is. The home is quite lovely and clean - it looks just as the pictures portray and it is quite comfortable and it is close to the Volcano Park, although the village is a good 10 min drive to the visitor's center. We were lucky in that the volcano was erupting when we were there.

The village is also close to Hilo for sightseeing in the town - I wish we had more than a day to explore it.

It really is a beautiful home, but we had a few quibbles. There were several smoke alarms that didn't have batteries in them - the owner should fix that. Also, the kitchen and bathrooms had a lot of small roach like bugs everywhere. I don't know if this is inevitable in the jungle, but it was quite off-putting. We just kept everything covered up and in containers. Also the house was a little musty - just a little, but if you have allergies, it might not be the best place - two of us were congested the entire time - again it may be inevitable in the humidity of the jungle

We had dinner one night at Thai-Thai in the village and thought it was quite good. We also liked the Volcano house dining room - make reservations a day or two ahead if you want to sit close to the window.
