We chose to live in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver to be close to the beaches, parks and vibrant street of West Broadway. We also wanted to be close the a major public transport hub which is very important us and our guests.

Gracious hosts, wonderful location, comfortable accommodations

We stayed at this laneway home for a week with our two children ages 17 and 12 for a family vacation. Braden responded to our inquiries very quickly before our arrival. Upon our arrival, we found the home immaculate and equipped with all of our basic needs, including a few lovely welcome items. Braden and Anthony were gracious and thoughtful hosts. The bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable, with high quality bedding and pillows. The towels were large and fluffy and the kids found their beds comfortable (our son slept on the pullout sofa).

We stocked up on groceries on our first day so that we could have most of our meals in the home or from packed lunches, and there are many grocery and liquor stores on West Broadway (2 blocks away) and West Fourth (7 blocks away). The home had a wheeled shopping bag, so we were able to walk to and from the grocery stores. Regarding access to amenities on foot: there is a nice park very near the home where our son played; we were close enough to walk to the seaside (about 12 blocks) and enjoy the seaside walking path and beaches from Jericho Beach west to Spanish Banks Beach (for the best fish and chips, go to West Spanish Banks Beach, which is about 700 metres west of East Spanish Banks Beach); and we enjoyed thrift and specialty clothes shopping on West Broadway and West Fourth.

Regarding access to amenities further away: we used public transportation throughout our stay, and the home is close to a major bus stop (West Broadway and Alma) with easy access to the skytrains, which led us to Vancouver Aquarium, Science Place, Metrotown, Steveston village, and Granville Island). We purchased Compass Cards to ride the buses and trains, which we registered and reloaded online throughout our trip. We found out that the $6 startup fee for each card is refundable and you can mail the cards back to the transit authority after your stay to get the startup fee back, which makes a difference when purchasing several cards.

Braden returned our security deposit less than 24 hours after our checkout. We would definitely stay at this home again. Thank you to Braden and Anthony for helping to make our family vacation so comfortable and enjoyable.

Wonderful House, Wonderful Location!

My husband and I found this perfectly set up house to be ideal for our 4 nights spent in Kitsilano. Braden is a wonderful and attentive host; her house delivers everything as promised -- it is immaculate! While the laneway house is on the smaller side, it has everything we needed, including a beautifully outfitted kitchen; a comfy living room; a cozy master bedroom; an office area with a Mac; and more. Braden is very generous with her supplies -- towels, toiletries, paper towels, etc. -- and even left us a welcome surprise of wine, fruit, yogurt, chips, and beverages. The location of the house in Kits is a walker's delight -- you can visit the shops and restaurants -- and bakeries! -- on Broadway and on West 4th and even walk to the beach. Downtown is just a short drive away. In short, we loved this house and hope to return on our next visit! Highly recommend.

A great area and property

The house, though small, was comfortable, well-appointed, clean, well-maintained, with every kitchen appliance and utensil one would require. The bed was very comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful. She was available when needed, even on Christmas Day. She provided us with a little Christmas tree which we greatly appreciated. Made the house festive and cheerful. We liked the area very much. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance, as are the beaches, Jericho Beach in particular. Our favourite walk was down Dunbar to Point Grey Road and into Jericho Beach. We would definitely recommend this property.

Spring Girls Weekend

My mom, aunt,daughter and I stayed in this house for a girls weekend back in May. The location was obviously amazing. The park in particular was nice to have so close to us, not only for my daughter, but even for us ladies to enjoy the beautiful flowers. It was a very quiet location, yet within walking distance to many neat stores. What made the whole trip/experience the best was the hospitality of Braden and Anthony. We requested a fan in our room and we got it right away. Your comfort and enjoyment is clearly a priority to the owners. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, Convenient Place to stay in Vancouver

My family (wife and two young children) stayed at the Laneway House for an extended weekend in Vancouver. The location worked out great for us since it was easy access to Kitsilano beach, restaurants, and the local parks where my kids could play. Plus the neighborhood was very quiet and safe - we enjoyed taking walks / bike rides throughout the area.

The house itself is extremely comfortable and very well appointed. We had everything we needed (and more) while staying there, and it truly felt like 'home'. Next time I am in Vancouver with my family, this will be at the top of my list for places to stay.

Family stay at Laneway House

We had a fantastic stay at Laneway House; upon our arrival, everything was just what we wanted. A great and well equipped kitchen (so we didn't have to go to restaurants every night), very clean, two bathrooms, all the emenities of home. The house is well located to get to Kits or Jericho Beach, 15 minutes to downtown or Stanley Park. Lots of grocery stories nearby for convenient shopping. Braden and Anthony were wonderful hosts and kept us up to speed on events happening during our stay. I would love to return to this house again and highly recommend it to anyone who may be interested.
