Shiloh's Rest is an inviting log cabin which offers all the comforts of home. Shiloh's rest is located in the prestigious Legacy Mountain Resort. The views from this resort will give you a sense of excitement before you even get to your 'home away from home'. As you turn each corner, take note of the beauty all around you. The builder paid much attention to detail when designing this resort. The roads are wide, paved and well maintained. The cabins are exceptionally built. The resort is located in Sevierville, just outside of Pigeon Forge, in a peaceful environment that is only minutes away from restaurants, shopping and family entertainment.

Here are a few things this charmingly crafted cabin has to offer:

* Main level features an open floor plan with large glass windows to let the sunshine in and to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views.

* Spectacular views can be appreciated from almost anywhere in the cabin.

* Vaulted cathedral ceilings give the main level an open airy feeling.

* Tongue and groove walls and ceilings throughout.

* Living room, dining room and king master suite on the main level have gleaming hardwood floors.

* Main level king master suite has its own private bath.

* Full size kitchen has stainless steel appliances, tile floors and a breakfast bar with three bar stools.  The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare your meals - except the food.

* Handsome dining room table has seating for six.

* Cozy stack stone electric fireplace and large flat screen TV in the living room.

* Pool table in the loft rec area where the whole family can play and enjoy some quality time together.

* Downstairs sitting area with air hockey table and more of those large glass windows.

* Lower level king master suite with a large closet, huge bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower.

 * Lower level deck hot tub.

This cabin does not participate in Legacy Mountain Resort Amenities at this time. Guests who stay with us at Shiloh's Rest will not have access to the seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, steam room or work out facilities in Legacy Mountain Resort.

Legacy Mountain Resort is approximately 13 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (utilizing the back roads to avoid traffic) and about 6 1/2 miles from Dollywood and downtown Pigeon Forge.

Dollywood is one of the world’s best known theme parks, from the roller coasters, rides, restaurants and shows to the museums and entertainment; you will need to plan to spend at least one full day here. The park is great for the whole family and just minutes from the cabin.

Titanic Museum: We went to the Titanic Museum, although a little pricey, we thought it was very interesting. The museum is a replica of the ship that sank in 1912 from the cabins, dining areas, to the grand staircase you see in the movies. You get a good feel for what it would have been like to be aboard the ship during its final voyage. One of the most interesting things to us was at the end when you entered a room where all the conditions were the same as the night the Titanic went down. You could feel how cold the air was, touch an iceberg and dip your hand in the frigid 26 degree water and realize you can’t leave your hand in it for long. It makes you realize what it would have been like to be dumped into the ocean that night. Good for the whole family, although maybe not for the very little ones.

The Dixie Stampede is good for the whole family. You will enter a 3500 square foot arena and be treated to a meal of chicken, pork loin, potatoes, vegetables and desert. Then you will see a friendly rivalry between the North and the South. 32 horses, talented riders and herding buffalo, it is a unique experience that everyone will enjoy.

The Lumber Jack Feud, although geared more toward our younger guests its real authentic lumberjack action. With competing ESPN Lumberjack athletes, zip lines, draft horses, Timber Dogs and comedy, it will have your family on the edge of their seats! Taking place in a new 10 million dollar arena, its axe swinging, log rolling, tree climbing, chainsaw carving action will offer an experience unlike anything else in the Smoky Mountains!

Wonderworks: Young and old alike will appreciate the hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge has an inversion tunnel, an anti-gravity chamber, a replica of the Mercury space capsule and a hurricane hole with 65-mph winds. The re-creation of the 1989 San Francisco earthquake lets you experience the effects of a 5.3 magnitude earthquake. There are more than 150 interactive exhibits at Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge, TN, including the Bubble Room, where you can wrap yourself inside a giant bubble!

Elvis Museum and Gift Shop: If you are an Elvis fan you don’t want to miss the Elvis museum.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Tour is a scenic drive into the foothills of the Smokies you will see virgin forests - clear, cascading streams - and vestiges of pioneer farms. A hiking trail leads to Grotto Falls and Mt. LeConte. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a one-way loop road ending in Gatlinburg.

Cades Cove is an eleven mile driving loop that has authentic homesteads, churches, gristmills, blacksmith shop, etc. We found it interesting and worth the trip. There are plenty of wild life and possible bear sightings. There is also a hiking trail for those of you who enjoy the outdoors. It is a long hike but not difficult.

Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the park and the whole east coast. It is only a .5 miles hike to the peak but it is very steep. The path is paved and wide enough for wheelchairs. On a clear day it has a 360 degree view of the park and surrounding states. Pick the clearest day on your stay if you plan on going here to maximize the view. The road leading to the dome is closed from December through March 31.

Good Eats in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg: Our favorite restaurant is the Alamo Steak House, expensive but good. We also like No Way Jose. A good breakfast place is the Red Rooster and the Pancake House at traffic light #10. You cannot go wrong because there are lots of places to eat in the area.

White Water Rafting: We have not rafted here but we have had some great feedback from guests like you.

Moonshine distillery is in Gatlinburg and is pretty cool. History of moonshine includes the Nascar connection, moonshine making view windows, actual moonshine transport vehicles, live music and of course many different kinds of moonshine with free taste testing. Below is the link for more information.

Horseback riding is also something we have not done but looks like fun.

Great weekend with family and friends.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time over the course of 3 days. Five adults slept comfortably. The hot tub and pool table were must haves. The sunrise with morning coffee was wonderful. (bring your own coffee and filters). It was clean and cozy. I'd definitely rent out this cabin again in the future. It had plenty of space to spread out and relax.

Owner's Response: It sounds like your group took the time to enjoy everything the cabin and the views from Legacy Mountain Resort have to offer. So many times when we go to the Great Smoky Mountains, we spend most of our time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The end of our trip comes too quickly and we never take the time to relax at "Shiloh's Rest". We love to hear when our guests take the time and relax and rejuvenate.

terrific views of the Smokey Mountains

  • 5 of 5

The property is spacious and well maintained. While it looks like a rustic cabin, inside you will find a well appointed and cozy home. Perfect for family stays. Owners are very responsive and provide thorough communication before, during and after your stay.

Location is close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, however it is a one hour plus drive to the National park.

One consideration. Traffic is a significant hassle between 40 and the location of the property .

Owner's Response: It sounds like you had a nice family vacation at "Shiloh's Rest". We love to hear that our guests felt comfortable and cozy in our cabin. The closest entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park would be Gatlinburg Visitor Center. This is about 13 miles from the cabin. If you are going during a high traffic time of year, I would suggest utilizing the back roads. If you take a left out of Legacy Mountain Resort, you will come to the intersection of Pittman Center Road, Upper Middle Creek Road and Bird's Creek Road in less than a mile. Take a right. In a few miles, you will be in the Arts and Crafts Community of Gatlinburg. On past the Arts and Crafts Community is a short drive to Gatlinburg. At about traffic light number 10 in Gatlinburg, you can take a driving tour in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park called Roaring Fork Motor Trail. They have old time homes set up. There are hiking trails, or you can just cruise in your car which is nice for older folks. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is so massive that you can definitely spend an hour traveling to the different parts of the park. Or, you can visit the sections that are closer to "Shiloh's Rest".

Amazing Cabin with Incredible Veiws

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this amazing cabin with 4 adults and 5 children. Plenty of space and activities to keep everyone occupied while at the cabin. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is only a short drive away. Take a left off the cabin road and your headed through the Smokey Mountain national park towards Gatlinburg, or take a right and head straight to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. Our family enjoyed a bit of it all. Enjoying coffee on the back deck taking in the incredible view of the Smoky mountains in the morning and relaxing in the comfort of the cabin in the evening. There is also a Harley Davidson shop in Pigeon Forge ( Rocky Top Harley) where we rented 2 bikes for a day, and rode the Smokey Mountain circle. This included the "Dragons Tail", "MoonShiner 28", "Hell's Bender", and much more. If you ride, I strongly suggest taking this ride. This cabin made the stay very relaxing, as it takes you away from all the crowded cities and allows you to relax and truly enjoy the beauty of the area. We will be staying at Shiloh's Rest in the future. Looking forward to visiting in the fall and winter time.

Owner's Response: Wow, it sounds like you did a lot in your one week and still had time to enjoy the cabin. We love the location of Legacy Mountain Resort as well. It is very easy to get around town utilizing the back roads. Glad you discovered this. I have heard about the Dragon's tail and really hope to check this out someday. We look forward to working with you again.

Loved this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! Four adults and three kids were very comfortable with plenty of space. The cabin has awesome views and was very clean. It was really fun to watch fog and storms roll in from over the mountains and eventually to the cabin. We loved the pool table and air hockey table. The drive up the mountain isn't bad at all, for those who worry about that like I do. :) The owners were also very easy to communicate with.

Just a minor heads-up if traveling with a toddler: we rented baby gates from a local business to use during our stay since the cabin has two sets of stairs, but we couldn't use them due to the cabin's staircase architecture. We got around it by barricading all the staircases with various pieces of furniture, so it turned out fine. Just don't waste money or trunk space on baby gates. :)

We had a wonderful family vacation in this cabin and definitely hope to return someday!

Owner's Response: We are so glad you loved "Shiloh's Rest". It sounds like you and the family had a great vacation. I too love it when it storms. The clouds roll in over the mountains and lay in the valley and make a great picture. As a matter of fact, I love watching those mountains any time. One of the reasons we purchased our vacation home in Legacy Mountain Resort are the wide paved and well maintained roads. Another reason is those unbelievable views. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Beautiful views, great location, and everything it promised!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Shiloh's Rest, it looks just like the photos. Cabin was clean and cozy. The road leading up to the cabin was newly paved and wider than any other steep, winding roads we encountered during our stay. We were very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in Legacy Mountain Resort.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you "loved" Shiloh's Rest. The roadways in Legacy Mountain Resort were one of the reasons we decided to buy our vacation home in Legacy. We did encounter some pretty scary roadways while looking for our cabin so I can understand what you are saying about other roadways in the area. Another reason we chose in Legacy was of course the beautiful views. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
