We had a great week at Vista Gloriosa enjoying mornings relaxing by the pool and sightseeing in the afternoon.
The views out over the groves are just breath taking and really does make you stop and take it all in and just relax. Our girls, aged 5, 7, 10 and 13 very much enjoyed themselves playing in the pool and relaxing on the patio in the shade.
A few things to point out, you can't use the towels for the pool which we weren't aware of until we arrived. Also, the plastic sun loungers around the pool don't have any soft cushioning so it was somewhat uncomfortable to sit on them for any length of time.
A few of the evenings/nights were very warm in the villa and it would have been nice to have more than one fan to use, we had to rotate it around the 3 bedrooms to keep the girls cool during the night, This might only be an issue in August when it is very warm.
Chris was very helpful meeting us at the GALP petrol stations and showing us everything in the villa.
Overall we had a super holiday and recommend visiting Bunol and the castle and wandering around the cobbled streets, we just missed La Tomatina by a few days. A trip to Sot de Chera was a breathtaking journey through the mountain passage. We came across a Bull Run at Montserrat which was quite an eye opener and the old town in Requena is lovely just to wander around the streets.
Thank you for that 5 star review. We are glad that you and your family had such a lovely holiday and yes the views certainly are stunning.
Its such a pity that you didn't spot the sun bed cushions in the wardrobe of the twin bedroom. We simply can't leave them outside.
We discourage the use of our bath towels at the beach or pool for the benefit of future guests. You will see this in your confirmation letter, however, upon review.
Finally, yes you're right, it August is the hottest month. On the plus side though, it's nice to have guaranteed sun and I suppose that's why so many people choose to visit at that time of year.
So glad you enjoyed holiday. Please come again soon. Best wishes J&P.
This property is the ideal escape. The commanding views over the orchards to the hills beyond are an instant antidote to everyday stress. The hilltop site provides access to the gentle breeze which is a necessary counter to the summer sun. The well-maintained pool is another means of escape from unrelenting sun (Temperatures reached the low 40s during our stay). We've rented accommodation all over Europe and beyond and can truthfully say that this Villa is the best-equipped we have ever had. Attention to detail seems to be the norm with the owners. The accommodation has a light airy feel and, although technically in an urbanisation, the site has an atmosphere of seclusion with unspoilt views. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing base from which to explore Valencia and its environs.
Thank you for your poetic and thoughtful review. We try our best to make the house as beautiful as the views. By the way, it was unusual for it to be quite so hot. There was a heatwave around western Europe at the time you stayed. Come again soon. Best wishes P & J.
Vista Gloriosa is a beautiful, modern, well appointed country villa and is aptly named. The surrounding countryside is beauiful. It is remote so having a car is essential. The only difficulty that we experienced was a lack of heat and hot water on three separate occasions. Thankfully, Chris came to our rescue.
Thanks for your helpful comments Bill. We are glad you were suitably impressed with the house and area. So sorry that you had an issue with water. Coincidentally we followed you into the house so I'm happy to report that all is fine now. Please come again soon.
Beautiful villa , stunning views !
The villa was lovely, every thing you good possibly need! The views were stunning , it’s a shame we were so busy would have been nice to spend more time there!
Thank you Claire and family. Yes it is a wonderful house with a wonderful view. Please come again soon.
Best wishes, Jan and Phil.
Quiet location, stunning views
Great location in the countryside, really peaceful. Well stocked villa with all mod cons: full set of kitchen implements, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, condiments etc. All this small stuff really makes a difference.
Location is great just 30 mins from Valencia airport and there’s plenty to do and see nearby. Or you can just chill around the pool or have a barbecue.
This was a really nice place to stay.
Thanks David. We try so hard to make it a home from home. Phil.
Great house with beautiful views.
Everything was meticulously clean. Lot of space. Fine swimming pool. Chris and Janey were helpful caretakers. Great kitchen with all amenities for cooking.
We thought the neighbors’ dogs quite noisy. Especially while the surroundings are so nice and quiet in general.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We try hard to provide everything that's needed. I was surprised to hear about the dog. That's unusual. Best wishes. Come back soon. Phil.
Vista Gloriosa sits in a stunning setting, nestling in the Valencian hills in tne hamlet of 'Loma de los Caballeros'. 3 mins drive to the authentic Spanish village of Godelleta for bars and basic shops. 7 mins drive to the town of Chiva with supermarkets, restaurants and wider facilities including railway station. Park here for free and for 3 euros take the train to the stunning nearby city of Valencia (about 30 mins). Visit the historic centre or the amazing new 'City of Arts & Science'. Wander through the astounding Jardin del Turia, not so much a park, more a world of opportunities, but once a riverbed! Alternatively, drive inland to the spectacular nearby mountains and lakes. Or perhaps play a round of golf at the nearby El Bosque championship course. Or you may prefer the Bonaire Centre with shops, Cinemas, Bowling, Restaurants - think Bluewater! Also, the Valencia (Ricardo Tormo) MotoGP Circuit is minutes away and the F1 GrandPrix is easy too. The choice is yours.
