It has 4 large bedrooms all with ensuite facilities a large lounge (with wood burner), separate dining area and a large kitchen /breakfast room with all the modern appliances you would require.

It has been beautifully furnished to enhance the period features of the property.

THE COACH HOUSE

There are 4 bedrooms within the Coach House.  Downstairs is a twin bedroom with ensuite.  Upstairs are 3 double bedrooms one of which is ensuite.  There is even one bedroom with a four poster bed! Two of the bedrooms share one family bathroom so technically all bedrooms have access to a bathroom.

The cosy and comfortable sitting room has a wood burning stove.

THE ESTATE

You can enjoy relaxing forest walks through our private grounds and have the chance to meet the animals that live on the estate including the donkeys in our donkey sanctuary!

Close by fishing and golf are available and the beach is only 20 mins drive by car.

We are ideally situated 15 mins from Waterford city and 25 mins from historic Kilkenny making us the ideal location for your special break away.

THE SETTING

Set amidst more that 100 acres of rolling parkland on the grounds of the historic Belline House, just outside the village of Piltown, Co. Kilkenny and on the borders of counties Waterford and Kilkenny.  The historic cities of Waterford and Kilkenny are within easy driving distance as are the beautiful, historic pretty villages of the region.

Belline House dates from around 1770 and the grounds contain some interesting architectural follies. The house is flanked by twin detached circular pavilions with conical roofs – once used as pigeon houses.

There is 40 acres of mature woodland, perfect for walks without ever leaving the estate and dogs are welcome - but must be kennelled in comfortable stabling adjacent to the properties.

The owners have a donkey sanctuary on the grounds, with no less than 20 donkeys in residence!  And if you would like to enjoy a ride-out on the land, you can bring your own horse on holiday, with livery available for an extra charge.

THE LOCATION

For horse racing enthusiasts Gowran Park Race Course is just a 10 minute drive away.

If you have a special occasion gathering of friends and family, the fact that the properties are adjoining and interlinked, makes this a very nice option to rent a property for your group, sleeping 16,  in 6 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. Perfect for those who want to be together, but with plenty of space for private down time!

Piltown is close to the five counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford, set in an evocative patchwork of fertile valleys and plains.   There are countless castles, abbeys, fortresses and ancient settlements marking the Celtic, Norman and Anglo Saxon times. The five river systems – the Barrow, Blackwater, Nore, Slaney and Suir criss-cross the South East, meandering under old stone bridges, around magical mountains, through picturesque villages and past neatly thatched cottages before finally entering the sea at scenic, peaceful seaside towns. From your holiday property, you can visit historic monuments, colourful gardens; well-maintained and sign-posted walking and cycling paths; abundant fishing locations; numerous golf courses, equestrian centres and exciting festivals.

Belline House is a short walk from Piltown village and pub; Carrick -on -Suir is 6km away and Waterford city and airport 21km. Access to the M9 Waterford-Dublin motorway is a 10-minute drive from the house.

Sorry, no pets allowed.

terrific vacation home near Waterford Ireland

  • 5 of 5

This property is a renovated 1750 coach house which was made into 2 four bedroom apartments. The living space is substantial and charming, and the bedrooms were very nice. Two of the bedrooms were en suite, and the other two shared a hall bathroom. The way the place is set up, if you wanted to rent the whole building you could and it would connect. The house is on an estate where the main activity seems to be training horses. Next door is a donkey sanctuary, with friendly donkeys who like to be petted and fed. (We fed them carrots). From this location it was an easy drive to most of the sites in the south east part of Ireland.
