I am a writer and documentary film-maker with a passion for the East Mediterranean.
Iason purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Iason chose Beyoğlu
Historical, high-ceilinged property dating from 1913, designed with a personal touch and featuring well-stocked library relating to the region, Afghan and Iranian carpets, and documentary photography from around the region.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The surrounding area is blighted by gentrification but populated with crumbling historical churches and turn-of-the-century apartment buildings once inhabited by the Greek minority.
One street over is the city's best and largest organic veg-and-fruit Sunday market, and of course you have all the distractions of Istiklal just a hop, skip and jump up the hill.
Taxis are hailable from in front of the apartment, the sights of Sultanahmet are a 10' taxi ride away, and nearby metro stops in Şişhane and Taksım deliver you to the malls and offices of Levent or the boats of Karakoy, Kabatas and Besiktas to cross to Asia or visit the Princes' Islands and Asia.
Located equidistantly (2' walks) from two major boulevards (Tarlabasi and Dolapdere), allowing you to get anywhere in the historical centre within minutes.
There is a carpark 50m from the house, and taxis and easily hailable from in front of the apartment entrance. Most taxi drivers know the road the apartment is on.
