Liberty House in the center of Salò, on the lakefront. The rooms are all large, like the houses of that time. The apartment is reached by a wide staircase, from the entrance you enter the living area. Dining room, kitchen and living room TV and listening to music. The sleeping area has 2 double bedrooms, one of which is very large, with 3 French doors. 2 bathrooms. A large terrace overlooking the lake, which is accessed from the living area. The latter is habitable and on sunny days you can eat outside and sunbathe. The house has a free WI-FI line.

What a find! Beautiful apartment with a to die for view!
After using HomeAway in the UK just once before we decided to go away on a couples holiday abroad. We found this apartment and immediately fell in love. It is located centrally on Lake Garda in Saló surrounded by Gelateria's, Restaurants and plenty of local and chain shops! Upon arrival we were met early by a friend of the owner who gave us the keys, showed us the apartment and gave plenty of hints and tips about where to park and eat. There were two double bedrooms, a shower room and bathroom plus a large dining room, modern kitchen and lounge with TV and DVD player. The thing that drew us in though was the incredible roof terrace/balcony with a view straight onto the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates and cutlery along with some basics like pasta, seasoning and hot drinks. Communication with the owner was easy via the app and she was always happy to help when we had questions. To the rear of the apartment was one of the many narrow streets with amazing views left and right.
The only faults with the property were the lack of shower curtain in the bathroom meaning water goes over the bath and the fact the shower tray in the other room floods (and it runs into the kitchen if you're in the shower for a few minutes). There is also only one remote for the Aircon so if you want it on in both bedrooms then one of you can't turn it off in the night without waking the other people up. I am mentioning this as a suggestion to the owner to change the issues and prevent any other potential stayers having the same problems.
Having said that, we would 100% stay here again as the plus points far out weigh the negatives! Loved it!
Amazing apartment, great location, very well equipped and friendly and helpful manager.
We loved staying here (despite the 3 flights of stairs!). We spent lots of time relaxing on the beautiful terrace, enjoying the view and watching the world go by. When we contacted the manager with minor queries, she responded immediately and resolved our issues. Can't recommend highly enough.
You pay for the view
First the positives. Salo is a delightful old town and this apartment is on the top floor of a lovely building right in the middle of it. From the balcony there are excellent views of the surrounding area and the passengers using the nearby ferry terminal, the promenaders and the local townspeople going about their business are an endless source of fascination.
Signora Guisy and Miriam, who looked after the apartment and checked us in and out, were extremely helpful. They wee kind enough to lend their own iron so that we could press our clothes and when the boiler failed to produce sufficient hot water an engineer was called immediately and the problem was fixed within hours.
There are, however, some negatives and we hope that Alda will accept these criticisms in order to make life more comfortable for her future guests.
Apart from a bed, there is no furniture in the second bedroom and therefore nowhere to put anything.
There are no shelves in either of the two bathrooms upon which to put toiletries.
There are no instructions for the use of the hob or the combination oven in the kitchen.
There is no remote controller for the DVD player rendering it a useless piece of equipment.
There is no wifi. The signal from the nearby tourist office is not strong enough to be received in the apartment.
There is no iron or ironing board.
Our biggest criticism is reserved for the shower in one of the bathrooms. The ill-fitting curtain allows water to escape onto the bathroom floor and under the washing machine. Clearing it up is a major source of irritation and this is just not acceptable.
This is an expensive holiday apartment advertised to accommodate four people. We used it as a couple and found the furnishings barely adequate. The balcony makes up for a lot of the shortcomings, but we were generally disappointed by the presentation.
Schöne Wohnung in super Lage. Nachteile: Parkplatz weit weg, nicht mal zum Ausladen kann man Vorfahren; sehr laut bis weit in die Nacht; tagsüber laufend Dieselgestank von den Schiffen, da Anlegestelle direkt vor den Haus.
Amazing time in Salo
We four spend an amazing time in Salo. The apartment is great, the terrace is stunning. I can definitely recommend this apartment, it has everything what you need to have a great time at Lago di Garda.
- location (direct in the old town, direct at the lake)
- lots of restaurant direct for the door
Could be better
- Supermarket is 15 min walking distance
- Parking for free at the supermarket possible, also 15 min walking distance
- it is a bit tricky for the luggage, parking direct in front of the house is not possible
- no internet
at the end the "could be better" point are not really disturbing.
Thanks for having the possibility to stay at this nice apartment.
