4 Bedroom 3 Bathroom Sleeps 12 Mountain Chalet

About Tim & Carol Addington
We retired to Gatlinburg and began buying and renovating chalets in Chalet Village. We take our time with each cabin. It usually takes us a year or longer to update a cabin. We do as much as we can to update the cabin to modern day resort standards with all of the amenities that people expect in 5 star resort rentals.
Tim & Carol Addington purchased this Chalet in 2011
Why Tim & Carol Addington chose Chalet Village
This cabin was one of the original A-Frame Chalets built in the mid 60's when Chalet Village was first developed. Over the years, a lot of these cabins have fallen into disrepair as the original owners or their children have failed to maintain them. When we found this cabin, it was in pretty bad shape, but the frame was solid and the walls, stonework, and roof were in great shape. It sets solidly on the lot and the driveway was in great shape. We did a top to bottom renovation inside and out with new insulation, plumbing, and heat pump. We rebuilt the whole lower floor using a raised floor system to get it off the concrete slab. We also insulated and paneled the walls on this floor using red cedar tongue and groove paneling planks. We added new hardwood and carpet throughout the chalet along with a new HVAC system to keep the chalet warm in winter and cool in summer.
What makes this Chalet unique
The three level design of this chalet provides a layout that make it comfortable for three individual families to share this chalet. Each floor has bedrooms and bathrooms so that there is privacy on each level.

This was our first time staying in Gatlinburg after 4 previous times staying in Pigeon Forge. The chalet was very nice. Definitely a different feel than the cabin resorts we have stayed in previously. Much more of a quiet neighborhood feel in the chalet. Just on the mountain. We saw several bears during our stay. Please heed the warnings about keeping doors locked. The bears are around. Also make sure your brakes are in good working order before you get there as there is a climb up Ski Mountain Road to the chalet. Just take your time and it is fine.
Also use the bypass when going to Pigeon Forge as during the busy times it will save a 1/2 hour.
Definitely recommend this chalet. We love the area and this place is on our list to return to.
Could not have been happier! The chalet was spotless. Within a 10 minute drive of Gatlinburg but calm, serene and peaceful. We arrived on a Saturday and at some point Saturday night the bears had gotten in the trash from the previous renter. I called Carol to ask what to do and they were there within the hour cleaning it up and reinforcing the garage cage. We saw multiple bears- as advertised :-) and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. I would highly recommend!!!!
Love this cabin!
I have only good things to say about this cabin! There was so much room! The host was very informative and friendly. We actually saw a momma bear with 3 babies too! We will try to rent from them again!
Cosy chalet with convenient location
This chalet is quaint with plenty of places to sleep. The second floor and first floor bathrooms are updated but the master is very tight and dated. The master bedroom has an odd layout in that it has a door but is open to the loft area and any noise can be heard easily. All showers were tight and the shower heads were low.
The kitchen has the bare necessities and the owner provides trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels and dish detergent. The owner replaced items promptly after I texted her.
The chalet advertises pet friendly; however, there are not many places to let a dog go to the restroom. The hot tub was very enjoyable.
When we arrived, it was evident the cleaning service had not done a thorough job cleaning. We found toys and trash underneath the beds and couches, but the kitchen and bathrooms were clean.
The WiFi was ok but sporadic at best. If you plan to do work on your computer, expect delays. iPads and phones were fine. We did have to log into the WiFi everyday.
Once we figured out the lay of the land, it took no more than 15 minutes to get to downtown Gatlinburg/the Smoky Mountains. The only delays we encountered were due to pavers. Please note the roads are very tight and curvy and there are steep inclines. Beautiful views though especially when sitting on the rocking chairs on the two-level deck.
The closest grocery store is in-between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and about 30 minutes away. We recommend Ski Mountain Pizza if you don’t feel like going downtown as they deliver.
Terrific mountain getaway
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time in this very spacious chalet. There was plenty of room for more people if we had a larger group.
We loved playing pool and relaxing in front of a fire in the game room. Away from it all, but easy access to the beautiful Smoky Mtns National park and everything in Gatlinburg.
Very nicely prepared, everything we needed for housekeeping. Very close to Ober Gatlinburg.
Very nice home, billards table and hot tub were great entertainment for grandkids.
