Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 baths, with mountain views

Comfortable ski condo within walking/skiing distance to Creekside Chairlift. We are located in a quiet complex above the Whistler Creekside Gondola. This is a great unit for families who love to ski.

There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the downstairs bedroom has two twin beds, and the upstairs bedroom has two queen beds. Our family loves this space because the 4 split levels provide enough space for privacy while also providing a common area that's great for family meals and games.

Cozy & convenient

  • 4 of 5

After a slightly bumpy start, we grew to really like the place. It worked well for 2 adult couples. When we first arrived, the shower for the upstairs bathroom was leaking and unusable, and the third bedroom was unusable as well. Thankfully, the fifth person in our group had canceled, so there wasn't an issue as far as bedrooms. The caretaker brought a plumber the following day and the shower was fixed. It was very close to the slopes, however, at this time of year, there was no snow on the trail, so this was not an option. We took turns dropping gear off and walking down, which worked well.

The good and the bad

  • 1 of 5

I've been using the VRBO website to book lodging for ski trips for the last 7 yrs and all of the properties that we have stayed have exceeded our expectations relative to descriptions on the website. I've yet to write a review on a property but feel compelled to do so for this last trip to Whistler Creek Ridge (property 652644). To be fair, I will start with the good: 1) the owners provided the most detailed information pkg that I've ever received - complete with directions from the Vancouver airport to details on how to use the Apple TV to recommendations for restaurants; 2) the unit is large and the four split levels to provide privacy (though these 4 levels and narrow halls made carrying luggage in/out quite challenging); and 3) the kitchen is well equipped with the basics. Now for the disappoints: 1) when we entered the unit, we could hear water dripping and upon investigation, found a red bucket in the upstairs bathroom shower catching the constant dripping water; we called the owner immediately but never received a call back; instead, he emailed and said oh yeah forgot to tell you about that, sorry; in addition to dealing with the constant annoying dripping, we attempted to use the shower and discovered that it did not work at all; we emailed the owner and he said he would have a plumber come over as soon as possible but no plumber ever arrived and we were not able to use that shower at all; we finally became so annoyed by this that we measured the rate and discovered that it was dripping at a rate of 20 L/hour; what a colossal waste of water; clearly they were aware of this problem given that they had placed the red bucket in the shower to catch the dripping water; 2) the unit shows quite a bit of wear and tear - missing face plates on electrical outlets, dings and scratches on quite a few walls, laundry closet doors about to fall off, etc; 3) no closet in the downstairs bedroom and this bedroom is quite small with little room to do more than walk between the two twin beds; 4) ski in/out was a mud trail and though the note on the website that it's ski in/out "as long as there's enough snow", even if there was tons of snow it would have been quite the adventure down the long stairs and very narrow paths through the trees to/from the complex and the uphill walk on the ski-in; and 5) if you are new skiers, this would not be good ski in/out unit even in the best conditions as there are no green runs in the Creekside
