Wonderful apartment to stay! It is clean & quiet and refreshing to come to after adventuresome days in & around Dublin. Great local restaurants nearby! Enjoyed our stay!
Great place to stay
My two granddaughters and I spent a wonderful 5 days in this very modernized 18th century army barracks. Everything we needed was right there. Coffee, tea, biscuits, shampoo, restaurants, you name it. And not just any shampoo. It was the good stuff! We never went to the grocery store. A first for us in our travels. We had some issues with the hot water but finally got the hang of it. I appreciated having 2 towels per person. The place we stayed before provided only 1 and since we’ve not figured out European washer dryer systems, it was an issue. And the towels were large enough to wrap around.! This place was a little off the beaten path, which was both good and bad. Good to be away from all the activity and enjoy the peace and quiet, but a little difficult getting around at times, due to my advanced age. All in all, it is the best place we’ve stayed with Home Away and I highly recommend it.
Perfect stay in Dublin
Stayed here for 2 nights after our arrival in Dublin. Lovely apartment, walkable (20 mins) to Trinity and St Stephen's Green. Loved having the stocked items for breakfast and Guinness in the fridge! Great neighborhood. Made our time in Dublin perfect!
Great location and lovely space but poor communication from owner
Loved the location, nearby Michelin star gastropubs with great food, quiet area in historic neighborhood near taxis. Well equipped kitchen, provisions, comfortable bed and modern bath. Downsides were lack of hot water for bathing and owner being inflexible about early check-in, confusing instructions on where to locate key, ignoring messages asking for directions until we were already enroute through various airports, failing to give help so we had to bathe, shower, shave in lukewarm water. Owner seemed indifferent to our needs as guests.
Peaceful apartment in the middle of the busy city
This apartment's location could not have been more perfect. The peacefulness of the apartment is amazing when you consider how loud and crazy the city is just outside the gate of the community. A big plus was the onsite parking within 15 feet of the front door to the apartment building and at no charge to the renter, big bonus. There are too many restaurants and cafes to count within a 1 to 5-minute walk from the home. The apartment is very clean and is even more beautiful in person than the pictures on VRBO's website. The bed and the linens were the most comfortable that we encountered during our entire two-week vacation in Ireland. We would stay at this apartment over any of the 5-star hotels in town. If you want to experience Dublin without the stress of parking and a noisy or unsafe feeling neighborhood, this is the place for you.
Comfortable, Stylish and Bright
The apartment is so warm and welcoming! I was in Dublin for three days with my two young adult children and the place worked great for us. We were able to cook dinner one night and have breakfast in the flat every morning. Una was terrific about communicating with me. She provided detailed instructions about getting to the place from the airport. Upon our arrival, we found snacks waiting for us which was a wonderful surprise and much appreciated.
The beds and bedding were super comfy. I slept really well all three nights. Another plus of this place is the washing machine and dryer. And the living room is spacious. The three of us hung out on the couches and talked after returning from our adventures each evening.
We loved our stay in Ireland and can't wait to go back!
The apartment is on the first floor of a restored barracks (hence the bunk beds are particularly apt) where the South Irish Horse Regiment's soldiers slept in the 1800's with their horses housed below! you're right next door to the National Print museum and its café.
