Enjoy the convenience of being close to everything! Park your car, you don't need it. Enjoy the world famous husk restaurant (our neighbor) or take a short stroll to battery park. We are located in the heart of the attractions with countless shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and tourist sites within walking distance... Real walking distance, not miles, but blocks. Our home is centrally located in the historic district very close to intersection of queen st. And king st. Which puts you in the middle of the action. Want to go further? Hop on the provided bikes and access the distant reaches of the city. It's all close.

I don't mind admitting it, we are spoiled. When we escape to our home in charleston, we want the best! We insisted on high quality linens and super comfortable mattresses. I trust you will find everything in the house to be brand new and of high quality, because it is. Enjoy our oasis and spoil yourself!

You will not be disappointed!

About Fiske Hopkins

Fiske and Katie Hopkins along with our two young girls. We love to visit Charleston every opportunity we have.

Fiske Hopkins purchased this house in 2014

Why Fiske Hopkins chose Charleston

We love Charleston. It's so exciting! We like the idea of parking our car and using our two feet to get everywhere we need. We love the history of our home and the immediate area. From the local farmers market on Saturday mornings with our family to the evening strolls and fine dining at night Charleston is truly full of charm!

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location. The oldest grocery in charleston, queen st. Grocery, is located across the street. Wake up and grab a cup of fresh coffee or stop in for the cuban at lunch. We are less than 2 blocks away from the infamous husk restaurant. Here, we are a short walking distance to everywhere you want to be.

Perfect Location

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As mentioned by many other people, this is an extremely comfortable bed. The location could not be better, although it was quite noisy during the day since it is on a corner lot, but with the doors closed it wasn't really noticeable. But you can walk almost anywhere you want to go and there is parking for the car. Also being right across from Queen Street Grocery was very convenient.

This would be a five star review except for the following and could be easily rectified.

A few minor things would make it perfect. The person doing maintenance did not make sure everything was working properly. For the entire week we could not really use the bathroom sink because there was no water pressure. He came over and told us he would have to order a part and, of course, there was no way it would be there before we left. We had to use the kitchen sink for the most part.

We were also rather disgusted about the kitchen floor. There was some unidentified, very nasty substance caked on the floor. We really couldn't stand looking at it and ended up getting on our hands and knees and scraping it off the floor. Hated to even think about what it was, but whoever cleans does not do a great job on the floors.

It would also be helpful to give people a heads up that it takes forever to get hot water because it is a tankless water heater. Once it finally comes on it is great.

Also a note explaining that the washer dryer set needs a lot of tweaking and an explanation of what to expect would be very helpful. Again, we had to call the maintenance person and he fiddled with it for quite awhile and finally got it to work and it turns out you just have to wait a long time for it to start.

Also the kitchen is very nice, but there was no drain board, the clothes detergent was not marked and there was no cutting board.

This is is a small thing, but a few pillows on the couch would make it a much more comfortable space. My husband was fine with the couch, but I am petite and never really got comfortable.

This sounds like a lot of complaints, but again, just a few minor details would make this a perfect vacation spot. We would definitely return.

We had a wonderful time for a weekend trip. The location was nestled in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping on Kings Street and many of the sites in historic Charleston. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean but the front porch was a special bonus for enjoying the easy pace and friendly atmosphere of Charleston. The bathroom lacked adequate counter space, but every other aspect was perfect. Would certainly do it again.

Was a nice stay but....

  • 3 of 5

The house and property were clean. Amazing bed and bed spread. The location to everything you need to see and do were probably the best part of our stay. The problems we encountered were the close proximity to the road, the noise of the traffic, and the speed at which the traffic moved. It seemed the traffic never stopped at all. We have a small child and dog and it was very scary at times walking near the house. None of this is a knock on the house or it's owners it's just something we didn't expect going to a historic down town area.

Owner's Response: Shane, I am very sorry you were uncomfortable with the traffic and road noise. As a dad, I know it can be especially bothersome when you have infant or small child napping. Our home is downtown. With that comes the hustle and bustle of downtown activity. Most find it a small price to pay to be in a Prime location that is walking distance to all the attractions. I am glad you guys enjoyed all other aspects of the house and found everything to be quite comfortable. Thanks, Fiske

Beautiful apartment. Excellent location. Well managed experience.

This historic home, converted to a multi unit, is perfect! The accommodations are very comfortable, beautiful and so convenient! A 5 min walk to the historic district and a 15 min walk to the downtown area. The Queen St grocery is right across the street. My dog and I walked over every morning for a pastry and coffee. Great sandwiches too. I can't say enough nice things about this home!
