Clean and comfortable.
Great location! Close to the bay and shops and WalMart! Very nice place!
Good location, lots of beds for rest
Convenient location, close to Kailua beach. Rooms are very clean, 2 queen beds, 2 bunk twin beds, and 3 sofa beds. Excellent communication.
Excellent accommodations for our large group
We rented the downstairs unit, in addition to renting the larger upstairs unit, for our large group. This unit was perfect for the extra people that we needed to house, and we used the upstairs unit as a gathering place for cooking and eating our meals. However, the downstairs unit has a refrigerator and small cooking appliances that could be used independent of the upstairs unit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay because the accommodations were clean and safe and very convenient for exploring Kona town on foot. The owners were very responsive to any of our minor issues (like working the TV remote), and that is a big bonus.
Wonderful and simple spot, right next to the LDS Kona Temple. Central location made it super easy to see a lot of the leeward side of the Big Island! Def recommend anyone that wants to find a great little and hidden spot for a get away!
Good location and price with all basic amenities
Very good location for walking - distance (3-4 block) access to main 'strip' in Kailua Village and convenient driving access to the rest of Kona, including highway to the airport and nearby marina where dive and snorkel boats are based. Property was clean and well maintained and of decent size, although a party of 6 would likely feel cramped and lacking privacy. For a party of two it was great. Kitchen amenities are pretty basic although fridge is full-size; some of the electrics are non-functional (hot plate) or half-functional (toaster). You need to purchase propane for the BBQ on your own, as well as toilet paper, etc. but this is not unreasonable at this price point; just remember to get these things when you pick up groceries. Can hear kids upstairs sometimes but overall it is a nice quiet spot with no traffic noise, and has a pleasant back yard sitting area. Pre - arrival communications were prompt and clear. Would be quite happy to return or recommend to others as long as they are not looking for a "full" kitchen or separate bedrooms.
Great Get Away
My wife and I stayed for the first 18 days in February 2016. Overall, we were very pleased with the roomy, comfortable and clean studio apartment. We found the owner David to be responsive and easy to talk to and deal with. The location was convenient for visiting the sites of Kona and the the island, but away from busy street and traffic noise. The recommendations of David for what beaches to see and snorkel was very helpful, especially with my wife's inexperience and first adventure into the ocean and with snorkeling. We love the close location to the Kona LDS Temple which was beautiful to see and visit.
We did find some of the appliances very dated and in need of replacement which we expressed to David. If you are a light sleeper, then the noise from upstairs apartment may be a concern. The noise of voices, walking and dishes from the upstairs are evident, especially in the late night and early morning hours. We unfortunately had very noisy tenants for several of the nights of our stay who were active most of the night and the their noise was very clearly heard. I did not give a five star rating due to the upstairs noise.
Perfect location for Iron Man. Only 5 blocks from Kailua Bay. Walk to restaurants and tourist shops.
