I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I am married and have three daughters. We now reside in Chicago, IL but love the west Michigan lake shore. My wife, Mary, and I have our own little business in Chicago Southern Suburbs.
Owner purchased this House in 2004
Why Owner chose Grand Haven
Growing up we always spent summers along the coast of Lake Michigan between Holland and Grand Haven. The beaches are beautiful and the people are friendly. We are conveniently located to all amenities and love the west Michigan Sunsets and beaches....None Better. We are so blessed to have a home in Grand Haven and want to share it with others.
What makes this House unique
Our house is reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell community. It is on a quiet cul-de-sac street and in close proximity to water, shops and restaurants.

Great spot for larger groups, clean, well supplied, spacious, quiet neighborhood, 20 minutes to GH !
If you're needing a larger place to visit Grand Haven/Holland then this home will be perfect. Doug, the host, is very welcoming and to the point in getting you settled in. Spacious is an understatement. Living room, dining room, great kitchen, full laundry and bath on the first floor with 3 good sized bedrooms upstairs (the photo don't do this place justice). The Master has its own en suite and there's a full bath as well on the second floor. The kitchen make for some great early morning starts with more than enough of everything (however, I could not find a garlic press - just kidding). Easy access to the main highway and you're only 20 minutes south of Grand Haven and a ton of dune parks. Kirk Park just south is dog friendly as is P.J. Hoffmaster. Amazing views and trails so keep you busy for days. Can't say enough good things about this stop. Reasonably priced and very clean. Enough said -- Enjoy !!!!!
Great location, great space.
Great location, walking distance to a small beach that was basically our own private beach. Plenty of room in the house, great room nice and large for relaxing with the whole family after the beach. Short drive into Grand Haven and Grand Haven State beach. We had 4 adults and 2 small children. Would not hesitate to stay on the property again.
Great location for the many opportunities for fun, both for adults and the kids.
Great family space for eating and cooking together. Comfortable sleeping. A few minor housekeeping lapses.
It was okay, but not as expected
Doug was incredibly kind and very accommodating; however, the house is in need of a serious deep cleaning. One of the bedrooms also has what appears to be black mold on the ceiling. The kitchen is very lovely and made meal time enjoyable.
It was quite a hike to the beach, but it was a lovely (and really really small) public beach nestled between two private properties. The lake was calm and it was a nice swim!
Perfect multi-family home
We were so blessed to find this home available for last minute travel north for my grandmother's funeral. We were traveling with three families and three generations, and we really wanted to spend the time together, not segregated to tiny hotel rooms. This home was perfect. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 children. Three floors, so we could send the kids to the basement when needed ;) Plenty of open shared spaces, but also plenty of privacy. Great location to the beach and super close to Meijer. We had a wonderful experience.
Only complaint from a few in my party was the lack of working televisions. But that did not bother me! Also, be aware that the temperature on each floor of the house will be different: warm upstairs, comfortable on main floor, freezing in basement.
As another reviewer wrote (thank you!), I also recommend bringing a basketball and beach towels. There were no washcloths, but plenty of bath towels for us. We bought firewood from a gas station down the street for the fire pit in the back yard.
The house was perfect for my large extended family. Everything was fantastic, close to downtown Grand Haven and Lake Michigan. We would definitely stay there again if available when we return!
Don't forget your bike to enjoy the miles of bike trails two blocks from the house. Also, be sure to bring your jet ski or boat to launch in Pigeon Lake with easy Lake Michigan access. Two blocks to a public access beach. 5 miles south of Grand Haven, MI. 12 miles north of Holland, MI. 35 miles west of Grand Rapids, MI. Enjoy the great restaurants and night life in Downtown Grand Haven or just kick back and relax on the beach or take a walk on the boardwalk then finish up with the World Renowned Musical Fountain. Don't forget the golf clubs and your tennis racket. Property is one mile south of Grand Haven Golf Club. 4th of July and Coast Guard Festival offer spectacular fireworks and parades. Coast Guard has daily events on the channel with a carnival to celebrate 'Coast Guard City USA'! Enjoy the offerings of the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds.
