Great Getaway in the UP

  • 4 of 5

This was the first time visiting the UP for our family. This cabin was so spacious for our family of 4, it was quiet, cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed making meals in our kitchen with all the pots, pans and dishes we needed. We loved that the owners had skewers so we could enjoy making s'mores in the evenings. We had fun using the kayaks provided on the lakefront and sitting outside on the chairs overlooking the lake in the morning and early evening. Make sure to bring bug spray, the skeeters are in full force! This location was convenient to Marquette which is about 35 mins from here and also close to some great fishing spots such as Deer Lake and Van Riper state park. The dam was let out here so the water was low on the river, so no boating here on the river by the cabin, no biggie. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Our stay was great.

There were kayaks and a canoe to use on the river. The cabin had a nice cabin feel to it and comfortably slept 10 of us.

November 18-20

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolute blast at Shelly and Stacie's place. We spent our weekend around the fire, playing games and just talking. The house itself is straight out of a fairytale. It was the epitome of cozy. And we were there for the first snowfall which made it that much cozier! We spent the day in Marquette, MI poking our heads into tiny shops and watching the waves from Lake Superior crash. While leaving, all eight of us said how excited we were to come back.

Great Family Getaway with Room for everyone!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying here! The cabin was right on the river basin with dock access. The fishermen in the family were thrilled about that! The location was centrally located to the sights that we were headed to. The house had plenty of beds, blankets, towels, etc. for our stay! The yard was nice with a tire swing for the kids! It did get really hot there a couple of the days. Although there are fans available to use- I would recommend bringing a couple more. Bug Spray is a must for the area! There is a public beach about a mile away that was very well kept and with a nice playground a swimming area. We definitely would stay again if we are in the area! We had a couple of questions during our stay and the owners answered our questions very quickly.
