4 Bedroom Cabin on a beautiful Wooded Lot **Off the Beaten Path**
So, we are NOT the kind of Cabin that looks like a cabin but has all the fancy bells and whistles. We are a dirt road, GPS won't get you here, starry night by the fire kind of Cabin in the Woods; made to get you UNPLUGGED and spending that long lost REAL Face-time with your family & your buds.
The technical details: Dead End, 3 wooded acres, bordered by state forest --- Wood burning fireplace, front & back deck, 4 bedrooms, 1.5 baths --- 3 Q, 2 T (not bunks), 1 F size Futon & a Q pull out sofa --- All Mattresses new in 2016 & all Linens provided --- Fully equipped kitchen, gas grill outside (propane provided) --- 2 32" Insignia Flatscreens w/DVD players & lots of DVD's--- IF you are still wondering about Internet, <sigh> Let it go... NO INTERNET, NO CABLE, CELL RECEPTION is NOT very good. (We have an Old-fashioned Land Line phone you can use)
Included: A small swimming/fishing lake, beach & pavilion area
9 hole golf course
***We have updated the well water filtration system in 2016. The previous reviews regarding water discolor are no longer an issue. The water is perfectly safe to drink and use***

About Christina Stehr
We are a family that enjoys traveling together, meeting new people and experiencing the Beauty of the Great Outdoors. We encourage everyone to take advantage of the Peace of Mind that nature can offer us from our busy lives. We Value the chance to unwind with family, friends and fresh air whenever possible & Hope that we can offer a Great Escape for others as well.
Christina Stehr purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Christina Stehr chose Middlecreek
It's the best of both worlds. Our cabin is 15-20 minutes away from endless activities that we've enjoyed all our lives. Seven Springs and Hidden valley, Frank Lloyd Wrights falling water, Ohiopyle, Laurel Caverns, snowmobiling, quad riding, backpacking, rock climbing, etc.. But if you just want to get away, it's the perfect place to escape the crowds; unplug, unwind and re-charge.
What makes this Cabin unique
We're surrounded by nature, but close enough to everything we could ask for. Kings Mountain (where we are located) was a resort community that never actually became a resort community. So, there is a 9 hole golf course & a small fishing/swimming lake with a beach area within walking distance. Most of the lots in the community were never built on so the property is Very Secluded, and the few neighbors that live there full time are Great. You can walk right out the driveway and into Forbes State Forest. This place is Hidden Gem and we are so lucky to have found it!

Great getaway from the city
This was our second visit and it was everything we could hope for. The cabin is very secluded and quiet - a great getaway from the city. The firepit it great - perfect for a snowy February weekend! We can't wait to come back next year!
So glad you enjoyed Sean & glad to have you back. We have more plans for improvements on the property & will continue to remain an affordable option. hope to see you again 🙂
Exactly as advertised. Clean, restful, comfortable. Perfect getaway.
Comfortable, homey and peaceful cabin
Highlights included nights around the fire pit, picnics and canoeing at the lake (easy drive but kind of far to walk), day trips to Ohiopyle and Fallingwater.
Thanks Michelle so much. So Glad you enjoyed your stay 😊
50th Birthday Weekend in the Laurel Highlands!
If you are looking for a vacation from the chaos of a busy life, this property is for you! Ample and comfortable, this cabin can accommodate a large family or group of friends, with the opportunity to connect and engage with the important people in your life within a beautiful natural setting. No WiFi (which was a huge bonus) but plenty to do - even if the weather keeps you indoors! Although it poured all weekend, we had a blast! We played the games provided, cooked great food on the gas grill and relaxed in the comfy living room. Check-in and check-out were super simple and owners very responsive as needed. Everyone who joined us loved the property have already started planning a return trip!
Stuff you should know: 1. You really only need to bring food and toiletries. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, serving utensils, cookware, spices and most small appliances. The bed and bath linen are provided. 2. They have great information on the area including recreation and restaurant suggestions. 3. The water tastes fine. 4. Bring bug spray. It's the woods and there are lots and lots of bugs. 5. The place is very very clean. I expected cabin mustiness but it was fresh as can be! 6. Although we didn't get to use it, the fire pit is awesome! 7. The cell service was fine all weekend. Kind of wished it wasn't!
Hope you have as much fun as we did!!
Bill & Barbie,
We are so glad that you enjoyed the house and thanks so much for the very kind review. We hope you had a fabulous birthday and hope to see you again some time!
Great place for the money
Having read the reviews we went in with eyes wide open in terms of the lack of internet and need to bring water. For us the lack of internet was a huge bonus which forced our teen girls (through sometimes teary eyes) to interact with the family. We fully enjoyed what the area had to offer by whitewater rafting, kayaking, biking, hiking, caving and in as many ways as possible communing with nature. We particularly loved the firepit at night an enjoyed the wildlife during the day including a juvenile black bear for which we maintained a respectful distance. It was a great place for our extended family of eight to meet and enjoy the beauty of the area - everybody felt like they had plenty of space. Would highly recommend to anyone who is willing and able to "check out" for a little while to get back to the basics of nature, family, and simple living. A great place to recharge, thank you!
Thanks so much Evelyn for the very kind review. So glad you saw a bear! We look forward to having you back anytime, as you were perfect house guests.
Wonderful secluded getaway
Great getaway for our family of 6 adults and two dogs. No cable TV, no cell phone reception, no WI-FI. Just fun and relaxation and lots of wooded surroundings. Our adult children want to go back soon. Please note that the outside of the house has been updated and looks lots better then the pictures posted. The inside has a cozy retro vibe to the decor and a large fireplace. Just bring your personal items and food and you are set for a great time.
Sorry it took me so long to respond but I wanted to thank you so much for the kind review. We always appreciate feedback from our guests. It's helped us to make it better and we're always glad to hear from the folks who ENJOY the 'unplugged serentity' that it is.
Hope to see you again someday
