About Susan Bailey
I was born and raised in Southern California and now live in Colorado. I have been in the technology industry since graduating from UCLA 30 years ago! My greatest love is pursuing my artsy side through renovating old properties and sharing them with guests like you. My husband and I have two properties - a charming beach casita in Long Beach, Ca and this cozy cottage in Green Lake. Our daughter lives in Seattle and welcomes our Tangletown guests.
Susan Bailey purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Susan Bailey chose Wallingford
We purchased this property in late May of 2014 and spent the summer and fall renovating both the house and cottage. We love craftsman architecture and the neighborhood is quite simply - fantastic!
What makes this Cottage unique
The Green Lake cottage is unique and special. It is a rare find in urban Seattle. It offers all the fabulous benefits of city life complimented by a serene setting that is peaceful and quiet.

Beautiful, well-kept cottage in a serene part of Seattle!
The cottage is wonderful. It has a kitchen stocked with pots and pans, a gorgeous bathroom, and great storage for clothes. The cottage is easy to access through a wooden gate on the side of the property. The shared yard with the main house is also beautiful and quiet. While the neighborhood itself is residential, there is a bus stop one block over that takes you through a variety of areas on its way downtown. Green Lake is also about a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Check in/out was very easy and there is a variety of info offered about the area by the hosts!
We love this place. It's a private nook in a lovely neighborhood, with bus stop around the corner.
This was our first time renting through VRBO and we hit the jackpot. The cottage is lovely; comfy bed, feels like a new space with a great kitchen, modern bathroom, and an outside sitting area, very private, feels real homey. We fixed breakfast every morning and hopped on the bus each day to tour Seattle. It's very convenient to the buses so we found we didn't need a car during our visit. We used an uber a few evenings which worked out well. We highly recommend Greenlake Cottage.
Perfect for the two of us
The cottage is so cute. Bright and very cozy. Very clean and everything you would need for your stay. We stayed the week of the Special Olympics. We were out and about around the city most of the day. It was very nice to come back to relax and recharge.
Lovely quiet cottage in great neighborhood
The Green Lake Cottage was perfect for a place to stay for a long weekend to launch off on Seattle site seeing, quiet reading, and jogs around Green Lake. The cottage was clean and we loved all of the natural light.
Very nice, clean quaint cottage perfect for a couple,
The cottage was very lovely, well kept and clean with a comfortable bed. Parking was very easy, it's a quick 15 minutes on the highway into downtown (driving). Only complaint is the fridge doesn't seem to work well, and the freezer portion doesn't work at all. It isn't the best spot for people who like to sleep in as it gets very bright.
Thanks so much for your feedback Robyn. It was great having you as our guests. We have addressed the issue you referenced regarding the refrigerator and freezer. It appears a prior guest may have changed the settings (without our knowledge). The settings were not in the cool range. We have corrected this. The cottage does have skylights - which provide for nice natural light (more evident in the summer). We will be mindful of this for guests who are light sensitive. All the best. Susan and Steve
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in Susan's cottage and we have been very pleased both times! It is very well decorated, clean, comfy and quiet. We really enjoy the convenient location and the little outdoor area to have a cup of coffee in the morning. So nice to have this property available to us when we visit our son in Seattle. Thank you!
