About Denise Gullickson
This property has been in our family since 1948. After my Grandfather purchased it he and my father built the cozy cabin. Our family has enjoyed and loved our piece of heaven and we hope you will too! We have 3 acres and another cabin on site. We do not rent it out but occasionally are there during the summer months. We always give our renters their complete privacy. We are glad to help with any questions at any time. We want our guests to enjoy and relax!
Denise Gullickson purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Denise Gullickson chose Kalispell
The turquoise blue water is one of a kind. Prettiest lake in the valley!

One of our favorites
We were so sad for this trip to end. Photos really don’t convey the beauty of this place. The water was crystal clear, and was warm enough for us to enjoy floating around in. The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need. On the cooler nights we enjoyed a fire by the lake and watching the fish jumping in the water. On super chilly nights, the cabin has a very nice flat screen tv with tons of channels to watch and comfy furniture. The wood stove worked great and came in handy for a night. The airport and grocery stores are very conveniently located on Kalispell which is only about 25 minutes away. There are lots of things to do around the lake. We took lots of walks which were packed with wildlife and beautiful scenery. The mountains are truly breathtaking. Glacier National Park is just over an hour away and makes for a seriously amazing place to explore. The Gullicksons are the absolute most wonderful hosts, and genuinely great people. They were always available, and helped give us ideas for activities and pointed out some pretty cool hidden trails for us to check out! Their dogs and cat became our buddies as well which made us feel right at home since we were missing our own pets back home. We were so pleased with this trip and hope to be back again!
Perfect getaway set on a pristine lake. Very private yet close enough to everything.
Perfect!!!! We loved it!
Crystal Blue Water with Mountain Views
We had the most relaxing time staying at the cabin. Enjoyed kayaking on the lake, swimming, and grilling out nightly on the deck. It was so amazing. A wonderful vacation.
Thank you!! It was lovely to meet you both and we are so glad you had a relaxing vacation! Thanks for choosing our Very special cabin, come again any time!
Great rustic cabin on a magnificent lake! Would highly recommend it if you just want to get away from it all, but the WiFi is significantly improved if you want or need to stay in touch. The hosts are lovely people and made sure we had everything we needed. Can’t wait to go back next summer!
Thank You, we are happy you had a great time! Yes, the wifi was upgraded and works great but it is nice to get away from it all! See you next summer!!
Log cabin on Ashley Lake
We had a wonderful time on Ashley Lake. So nice to have the private dock available for our boat and kayak. We enjoyed evening dinners on the nice front deck overlooking the lake, and made good use of the BBQ. The owner's home was right behind the cabin, but views from cabin's front deck did not have any nearby homes so we did not feel squeezed in. Log cabin was nice. Kitchen small but functional. Bedrooms were tight, however. Main bedroom had the bed pushed right to the wall and very little room at end of bed. Hard for the inside sleeper to get out of bed. Other bedroom had a twin bed, and was the walkway to the very nice bathroom (which was an add-on, hence the need for access to it through second bedroom).
Thank you, it was so nice to meet you both. I'm glad you had a relaxing vacation. The bedroom is cozy with the queen bed. We changed from a double bed to a queen for our guests sleeping comfort. And you're right about the access to the bathroom through the 2nd bedroom with single bed, but it was our only choice in adding the new bathroom.
Its a fun cabin that many memories are made of, as a cabin should be! :^) Thanks for staying and come back anytime!
Beautiful and peaceful! Very cozy
Our time at the cabin was so peaceful! The cabin is rustic but had everything we needed, and Denise and David were very welcoming and helpful with any issues or questions we had. They even brought over a smores care package and checked in on us over the weekend. We stayed in late June for a week and were able to get out on the lake and kayak (2 provided) during the day but still use the wood stove and wall units for heat at night. My 2 children (11 & 14) took turns sleeping in the loft and 2nd bedroom. The loft requires that you climb a ladder but the stairs have a grip surface to prevent slipping. The Wifi worked fine for us on our cell phones and we were able to text others but only iPhone to iPhone. This cabin is good for a couple looking for a quiet escape or a small family of 4-5. Ashley lake is beautiful and not overpopulated so you can really enjoy the peace and quiet. I would caution against driving in or out of the gravel roads in the dark and be sure to watch out for wildlife when going around some of the sharp turns. We took a couple day trips to Glacier Park and the drive is about and hour and a half, but it seems less because there really isn't "traffic" in the traditional sense and the drive is beautiful. My family loved it and we made lots of memories to cherish! Definitely would recommend...
Thank you Jenny for the great review! Thank you also for the wonderful note you left. Made me cry... Our cabin is very special to us and our family, tons of memories, and we are happy to share with you and yours anytime again!
Thank you! Denise and David
Kalispell is only 35 minutes away for shopping, theaters, art galleries and dinning. Whitefish and Bigfork are wonderful resort towns to explore and enjoy also, they are about 14 miles from Kalispell.
