Large Enough To House A Family But Small Enough To Feel Cozy

Bedrooms 3
Space 990 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom One Bathroom Centrally Located On Quiet Street

A cozy and comfortable 1950's house equipped with just enough to meet your needs and hopefully a little bit more. It's been updated but is also still fairly 'old school' and simple. The home was a treasure for us to live in for a decade and as our family grew we moved to a larger home, leaving this one with lots of happy memories. Hardwood Floors, Fireplace and raised garden beds in the front and back yards. A nice sized driveway for parking as well as street parking. Easy access to all kinds of shopping, transportation and escapes further out of town.

About Emily Nance

I'm a happily married Massage Therapist with two beautiful boys. I'm well educated, well traveled and welcoming to guests. I'm a local from a small town in the Coastal Range and have lived all over Oregon. I graduated from UO in 1994 and graduated from Lane Community College's Massage School in 2004. I love the great outdoors, horseback riding, biking, hiking and having fun in water. I love reading and chatting with friends. I have two, a cat, a guinea pig, and a parekeet.

Emily Nance purchased this house in 2002

Why Emily Nance chose Eugene

We chose this home for its charmingly simple and solid build. While living in the house, we drove our car only when leaving town. At all other times it was biking or walking, and quite convenient at that! The house has great proximity to all the things our town provides, campus, sporting events, parks, bike trails, dog parks, restaurants, shopping, river walks, you name it. It is on a quiet street and has lots of yard to play with.

What makes this house unique

It is a home set up to be as predictable as a nice hotel room and as hospitable as a home. The kitchen is spacious, versatile and the hub for gathering. The front room is welcoming with cozy couches, a fireplace and TV (sorry no cable just dvd player). The home has a lovely view of willow trees out the front windows and the private yard out of the back windows. The garage and shop house all of our 'urban homestead' tools and also serves as our bike depot. You are free to use the washer and dryer if need be.

A lovely home away!

  • 5 of 5

I am so happy we made this choice! The home was comfortable and equipped for all our needs. The weather was blazing hot... there were fans that keep us comfortable. The lush vegetable gardens made me feel right at home. For many years i've gone with a large group of friends to Eugene every June for the Black Sheep Gathering at the fairgrounds and we've always stayed in motels and hotels. This year, 4 of us tried HomeAway, loved our "home" and won't be going back to hotels. Hoping to stay with you for more than one night next year!! thanks, Emily, for your hospitality!!

Great house, nice people!

  • 5 of 5

The house is clean and comfy, close to everything, with an inviting backyard. The host was so kind and understanding despite all the my technical difficulties using the VRBO site and accessing instructions. Would recommend this rental to anyone!!!

Great house with nice front and back yards; close to Amazon Park and running trails.

  • 5 of 5

We were so fortunate to stay in this home for almost 3 weeks! Beautiful space with nice yards, close to Amazon Park. We used the bicycles in the garage several times for errands and sightseeing. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Emily was a gracious and responsive hostess-- thank you!!

graduation trip

  • 4 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay at your property. The kitchen and living room were accommodating for all of us along with some friends that dropped by. The bedrooms were spacious and even though there was only one bathroom, it wasn't a problem. We really enjoyed your herb garden. The location was also close to everywhere we needed to go. During our stay, we tried the Tasty Thai place at the end of the street, which are good. Even one day, we took a walk and found a trail that was very interesting. We will definitely keep your information for the next time we are in Eugene. Emily was easily available for anything I needed. Thank you, Emily for making our trip memorable.

Great location, good house for a weekend, very nice host

  • 4 of 5

My brothers, father, and I spent the weekend in Eugene for the Prefontaine Classic and spent two nights here. The location was great - walking distance to grocery, drug store, and several restaurants. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch, and the rest of the house had the essentials. Emily left us a nice note, sparkling cider, and access to a few nice bikes, which we used. She also made the check-in and check-out very easy. If you're looking for a fancy getaway, this probably isn't the right choice. Most things were a little old (including the beds), and the house was clean enough, but not entirely spotless. We also had some difficulty finding soap for the shower. That said, it was overall a comfortable place to be for the weekend, and I would definitely recommend it. For the price, location, three bedrooms, bikes, and nice host I think it is a great place to stay.

Car: not necessary

Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood in the lower blocks of the South Eugene Hills. It has easy access to all activities Eugene has to provide. It is easy to find from Interstate 5, 10 min. off the Interstate. Another 5-10 minutes from anywhere in Eugene Proper. Only one hour from both mountains and beaches. It is a great family home with a splendid location.
