About Mark Gilbert

We are a family that loves to ski and mountain bike. We live in Whistler and love the lifestyle.

Mark Gilbert purchased this house in 2014

Why Mark Gilbert chose Alpine Meadows

We love the cabin because it has such a cozy feel. It is in a neighbourhood but it feels very private when you are inside or even when you are out on the deck enjoying the hot tub under the stars.

You will love the vibe is cozy/ modern/ simple.

What makes this house unique

We have recently purchased the home and have furnished the master bedroom with a tempurpedic mattress and the other 3 beds also have tempurpedic style tops on them. You will have a great sleep in the cabin as it is virtually silent at night.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin home. It has the feel of a rustic cabin in the woods, but is outfitted with all the comforts of a modern home. The morning sun warms and brightens the open kitchen/dining/living area. The lovely mountain view is your constant companion, greeting you from the main living area, the master bedroom and the decks. The place has a relaxed, homey feel and simple, elegant appointments, with nice personal touches in the eclectic book selection and understated art. The owners are super nice, with a quick response to any questions we had. We felt like we were staying in a friend’s home rather than a rental property. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Quaint and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Whistler! This little "Swiss chalet" was so comfortable! We are a family of 4 (mom, dad, 18 yr. old son, 15 yr. old daughter) and this was just the right size. Having separate rooms for our children was excellent.

The house is beautifully decorated (with books to read everywhere) and has all amenities needed to really settle in. Wifi worked wonderfully, which was most important to my children.

Hot tub was GREAT, location is perfect - maximum 10 minutes to get to slopes. Kitchen accommodations were nice - really nice cookware. My only complaint (and it's a very small complaint) is that I'm spoiled to my coffeepot and I struggled making coffee with the glass carafe. Nice grocery store around the corner from the mountains. LOVE the heated floors! Having the washer and dryer was terrific - it meant we could pack light!

Overall, I'd be happy to stay here again and highly recommend the place.

Nice retreat in woodsy setting

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very comfortable and nicely updated with new appliances and renovated rooms. It was clean and matched the description on line. We arrived at night in snowfall and the instructions were very clear and helpful for checking in. The area is quiet but convenient to walk to some local stores, or short drive to the larger markets and Whistler Village. Owners are very responsive and communicated with us to ensure everything was fine. Only minor issues were that some items were not easily found where they were supposed to be (hair dryer that was supposed to be in a basket in the bathroom was found after a bit of searching in other rooms), the gas fireplace was more difficult to start (ignition may be wearing out), and we were unable to get the hot tub to work late at night after skiing. However, the owner's instructions were very clear to call the hot tub company. This just was not very practical in the evening and a bit disappointing when it did not work. Once we notified the owner and the hot tub company it was fixed the next day. Everything else was really comfortable and worked fine, including the entertainment (TV) system, kitchen, and bathrooms. Overall, a nice place to relax for our family.
