We moved to Asheville in the summer of 2014 from West Virginia. We were attracted to the thriving downtown, the beautiful and abundant hiking and nature related activities and the local contra dance scene. We quickly decided this was a place we wanted to make our home and bought our current house in October.

Over the years we had traveled to Western North Carolina several times and always talked about it as a place to move to. When our children finally got off on their own, there didn't seem to be anything stopping us so we made the leap. We are so happy to be in this house and this lovely mountain town! We are also happy to have the apartment in our home to share with family, friends and visitors to the area.
This is an older neighborhood that is just enough removed from the thriving downtown area to make it convenient and yet quiet and peaceful. There are beautiful mature trees in our yard and all of our neighbors' yards. People are friendly but there is also plenty of privacy.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights when we visited Asheville to go on a hot air balloon trip. We needed a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable place to stay that would be convenient for our itinerary.
I would say that the basement suite worked for what we needed. It was pretty reasonably priced for what was provided. It was pretty clean, but comfort did leave a little to be desired. We noticed a musty smell upon entry. I noticed some staining on the lower areas of the walls that suggested that the basement may have flooded in the past. Perhaps that was the reason for the musty odor. We could also hear the TV upstairs one night while we tried to sleep.
Great cozy stay. Perfect location from downtown. Very clean and welcoming.
Property was clean and suitably equipped. Slight pet smell present. Owners are easy to work with and contact.
The space was perfect for us. Small living room and kitchen area , comfortable bed, and nice bath. The owners greeted us, even though we came in late. The location was convenient to downtown.
We spent a long weekend at this rental and found it to be very comfortable and convenient to Asheville. The basement suite has everything you need for a visit to the area: a cozy bed, a mini-kitchen, clean accommodations, a private entrance, and free parking right outside the door. The owners live right upstairs so if there's anything you need, they are available but they do not infringe on your privacy. The wifi is free and the TV has a good selection of channels. The owners provided shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the bathroom as well as dish washing liquid (there is no dishwasher). There is some slight noise from the upstairs owners so if you are seeking total quiet, this is not the best spot for you. We had great customer service from the owners, who were very responsive when we inquired and followed up when we were due to arrive.
We would definitely stay here again.
