About Beth Weegar
We moved to Asheville in the summer of 2014 from West Virginia. We were attracted to the thriving downtown, the beautiful and abundant hiking and nature related activities and the local contra dance scene. We quickly decided this was a place we wanted to make our home and bought our current house in October.
Beth Weegar purchased this Apartment in 2014
Why Beth Weegar chose Asheville
Over the years we had traveled to Western North Carolina several times and always talked about it as a place to move to. When our children finally got off on their own, there didn't seem to be anything stopping us so we made the leap. We are so happy to be in this house and this lovely mountain town! We are also happy to have the apartment in our home to share with family, friends and visitors to the area.
What makes this Apartment unique
This is an older neighborhood that is just enough removed from the thriving downtown area to make it convenient and yet quiet and peaceful. There are beautiful mature trees in our yard and all of our neighbors' yards. People are friendly but there is also plenty of privacy.

Clean and Quaint
We arrived late so it was dark and a little hard to find the entrance. Area was well lit once we found it and it was easy to get into. When we got inside, there were a few crickets we needed to kill. It is a basement apartment but we didn’t expect the bugs. The space was ample and clean otherwise and suitable for a one night stay. Be mindful of the late to bed and early to rise owners or upstairs residents as the floors are very creaky. They do provide ear plugs but I didn’t know that until the next morning. The owners left a very cute memento of stay which was really sweet.
The apartment was clean and tidy. The bed is really comfortable too! My wife and I really enjoyed staying here.
Convenient location perfect size for two who like to sample the local fare. Everything we needed to visit Asheville's activities and people. Easy to get downtown or to the river fun. Kitchen is great for breakfast or snack prep but not for cooking a big meal.
Great cozy stay. Perfect location from downtown. Very clean and welcoming.
Worked for the Stay
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights when we visited Asheville to go on a hot air balloon trip. We needed a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable place to stay that would be convenient for our itinerary.
I would say that the basement suite worked for what we needed. It was pretty reasonably priced for what was provided. It was pretty clean, but comfort did leave a little to be desired. We noticed a musty smell upon entry. I noticed some staining on the lower areas of the walls that suggested that the basement may have flooded in the past. Perhaps that was the reason for the musty odor. We could also hear the TV upstairs one night while we tried to sleep.
Nice stay, as described
Property was clean and suitably equipped. Slight pet smell present. Owners are easy to work with and contact.
