THE perfect Charleston rental

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at this property. We've now stayed in the Carriage House and the Kitchen House. They really couldn't be better.

For this stay, we were in Charleston for our son's wedding. This home was located steps away from the venues for the wedding itself, the reception, and the rehearsal dinner. There is plenty of good air conditioning in this unit, which is not always the case in historic Charleston homes.

We love this property for several reasons. First, the location is ideal. The home is at the center of all of the historic sites in Charleston, but just far enough away from the craziness of the most touristy areas. It's quiet because it sits next to Washington Park.

Second, the units are furnished beautifully and comfortably. Both were immaculately clean. The beds are very comfortable and are made with high quality linens. The towels are thick and fluffy. Toiletries are provided, and are high quality. The dishwasher is a new, quiet, high end model... I could go on and on.

Last, Ruthie and her mother are sweethearts. These units are attached to their historic family home. If you need anything at all, they're there for you. The family was so excited for us about our wedding.

On an unrelated note, if you're looking for a walking tour, you won't go wrong with Two Sisters Tours. It leaves from Washington Park.

We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Beautiful home in downtown Charleston

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this charming home that has kept with the look of the 1700s with updated amenities. A cozy home right in the heart of downtown within walking distance of many delicious restaurants and great places to see, right next to beautiful Washington Park. Very welcoming family! Highly recommend this place to stay when visiting Charleston!

Lovely accommodations in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We visit Charleston regularly, and this was our fifth vacation rental in the city through VRBO -- and our favorite by far. The kitchen house has been beautifully rehabilitated for residential use, keeping historic features intact while providing all of the necessary modern conveniences. It is clean, comfortable, and charming. And the location is within easy walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and places visitors want to see in Charleston. The welcoming owners, though, may be this vacation rental's best feature. We've booked accommodations through VRBO in several states and one foreign country, and this is the only rental where the owners not only were available for help if needed but made a point of interacting with their guests. True Southern hospitality!
