About Ron Darling
My name is Ron Darling. I was born and raised in a fishing family in South Portland, Maine. Moved to Old Orchard Beach in 1985, and raised my children here. I work as a building contractor, and I own three rental homes in Old Orchard Beach.
Ron Darling purchased this House in 1990
Why Ron Darling chose Old Orchard Beach
I built this house in 1990, next door to the house I raised my children in. My children went through the Old Orchard Beach school system, and my daughter is currently the director of the Old Orchard Beach school's Parks & Recreation department.
What makes this House unique
Great location. Last house on a dead-end street. No traffic; no one comes down the street unless they're visiting you! Close to beach, great schools, and highway.

Great house, has everything you could need and more. The walk to the beach and pier was not bad at all. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. Central A/c was very nice as well. Definitely would stay there again.
Thanks Ron !
Loved the place! We would definitely stay again!
This house was perfect for what we needed. If you are a large group and plan on staying in quite a bit, this is not for you! More than enough space to sleep, but not a lot of "lounging" room. The driveway was a bit of a pain, but nothing you can do about that. Would have been nice to have some sort of cleaning supplies and a vacuum to use during the stay (we bought a cheap one to use). With 7 of us, you bring in a lot of dirt. Being nice and close to the beach and pier was great, but just far enough away to not hear all the noise. Was within walking distance, but I think it was a bit further than a quarter of a mile. All up hill in the way back. We walked it anyway. As I said, we loved this place and it worked perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again!! Only reason I gave 4 stars was the lack of cleaning supplies and kitchen was a bit "sticky".
Finding this place was the first task, and driving in and out of a steep grade on dead end street. Our stay in OOB was a warm one, so thank goodness the upstairs bedrooms and living room had air conditioning units. The lower bedroom (basement) had just a dehumidifier which kept it tolerable. It was nice having our own simple 3 piece bath off lower bedroom. We could not use the closet down there as one wall was outside block/brick and smelled very musty. We shared large closet in upper bedroom however had to buy hangers as there was not a single one. The connected sitting room sufficed well as a closet/luggage area. Upstairs guests had inconvenience of their bathroom being one level down, just off the kitchen. The unit needs some TLC as far as cleanliness. Floors, walls, countertops and baths were clean but kitchen chairs "grimey". Using Lysol wipes on them helped, with the wipes turning grey from the grime. Too bad there wasn't a larger area to sit outside. Owners were easily reachable and even called mid-week to see how things were going and if we needed anything. They were prompt at delivering a new coffee maker.
