About Tim and Dawn

My husband and I live in Custer and this is our fourth vacation property. We enjoy meeting and working with people. We take pride in having a five star rating on our other properties and are striving to do so on this property also.

Tim and Dawn purchased this house in 2014

Why Tim and Dawn chose Black Hills

Tim and I designed and built this home to be a vacation rental. We enjoyed the building process and our guests have enjoyed the home. It has a beautiful view off the porch and the home is very spacious! There is a wood next to the home where the kids can play and make forts! There is a propane fireplace on the porch for your enjoyment on our nice cool evenings!

What makes this house unique

The Mickelson Trail is just off the porch! The trail runs over 100 miles. The deck is comfortable and has a propane fireplace for cool evenings and for roasting marshmallows! Nice yard and woods for the kids to play in and make great memories! The house is spacious and comfortable with all the necessities and more!

Great property. I would recommend this to anyone

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10 stayed here for 4 nights. 6 adults and 4 children ages 2 - 15, found this to be very adequate for our stay. Clean, well stocked and wonderfully located for all the things we wanted to do in the Black Hills. An extra bonus was the working horse ranch next door that we were able to enjoy while they practiced roping and barreling. Outdoor grill and fire pit were wonderful and well used. Mickelson trail outside our back door was very handy for the running/walking our family likes to do. The owner was very responsive in answering my emails and stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. No doubt that we would stay here again.

Beautiful new cabin that suited us perfectly!!

  • 5 of 5

We spend 3 nights in this cabin while visiting the black hills and Mount Rushmore. We where two families totaling 12 people and it slept us just fine. Upstairs for the kids and downstairs for the parents. Great amenities, Direct TV was nice at night and the internet worked perfectly. We had AT&T and T-Mobile phone service and couldn't get a signal inside the cabin but the WiFi made up for it. Loved the outdoor fireplace and barbeque. Kids loved the hilly, rocky area to play. Would definitely recommend to friends and stay here again if we get to the black hills again.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at the cabin! It is perfectly situated near Custer State Park. Both the indoor and outdoor space were very nice! Everything that you could possibly need is supplied. Loved seeing all the deer each morning and evening. It was great being on the Mickelson Trail for nice long walks. The cabin make our stay in the Hills extra special! Thank-you!

Wonderful Black Hills Property!

  • 5 of 5

Our two families (a combined 5 kids and 2 babies) all fit perfectly into to this ideally situated Black Hills Property. Dawn was extremely responsive and helpful in booking the rental. We were pleasantly surprised to arrive on our first night to a lit fire, background music, pack and plays, and high chairs all set up and waiting for our arrival. The cabin is located on Hwy 385, which had very light traffic our entire stay. There were awesome rock outcroppings upon which the kids spent several hours exploring. The cabin is clean, comfortable, well put together, and has all the cooking tools necessary (including a great BBQ grill on the back patio - which we used two out of three nights!). Close to Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, and anything else you might want to do in the awesome Black Hills. Can't say enough about this property!!

A great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We could not have found a more perfect place to stay in the Black Hills. Tim and Dawn are great hosts. The cabin was perfect - it has all of the amenities we could have wanted and is close to all of the attractions. Even though there were only 2 of us, we could have fit 6 more easily. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the cabin was super comfy. They certainly paid attention to all of the details which made our stay that much better.

Perfect Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We would definitely recommend this property to anyone. It was new, equipped with everything we needed, located short distances from attractions. The owners were so helpful and in contact with us. They even visited us to say hello. The grocery store in Custer had what we needed to prepare our meals. We were impressed with the decor and lighting of this home. It was also located on a main highway. Can't say enough good words about our stay.
