Foxglove is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath modern home set on 12 acres on a sunny hillside facing East overlooking Point Reyes Station and Tomales Bay. You'll love the tasteful modern/rustic design and landscaping. Perfect for families!

The Maple Cottage is a freestanding studio directly adjacent to FoxGlove Retreat, and they can be rented in tandem to comfortably sleep up to 8 adults.  (That's 3 bedrooms plus the Studio, so 4 rooms total, one with two twin beds, and 3 full bathrooms total.)

PLEASE NOTE: For Thanksgiving and Winter Holidays, Foxglove Retreat is rented together with the adjacent studio, "Maple Cottage", just twenty feet away, for a total of 4 bedrooms, 5 beds, 3 bathrooms.  We rent out Maple Cottage frequently throughout the year (Foxglove only in the Summer and Holidays). These homes are part of a multi-generational property: a guest house (Maple Cottage - also for rent) share the parking area and pathway. It is very quiet and mostly, but not completely private. Given the great views and natural light the house has few window coverings, although nobody but you will be there.

The main house, Foxglove, has 3 bedrooms, (two with queen beds and 1 with 2 twins.) and two full baths. The large open floor plan is ideal for families to spend time together, with the kitchen and island opening out to the dining/living area, and out onto the deck. Outside there are benches and places to wander off for some quiet personal time.

We frequently cook delicious gourmet meals in our full kitchen. Our Calphalon pots, high-quality knives, and kitchen staples are available for your use, as well as condiments and spices.

The property has a beautiful garden landscaped with local materials and native plants. It is conveniently located a mile and half from the charm and cuisine in Point Reyes Station, a mile from Inverness Park Market (home of the world famous West Marin Rueben!) and a couple miles from the Point Reyes National Seashore Headquarters and trail heads. You can walk straight out your door and soon connect with the trails in the park, no car necessary.

The property is 100 yards up private driveway from a very quiet road. You will enjoy your own front deck and rear porch. A small terrace with bench is adjacent to the home, and is shared with our other rental, the Maple Cottage. The large deck has a new Weber gas grill (purchased June 2016). There's also a nice ping pong table on the front patio.

Unless you need something, you probably will not see the owners. The owners' house is 50 yards up the driveway, and can be seen from your home, but they have separate parking areas and entrances. The layout is such that you will feel comfortably secluded, and most likely will not see anybody other than yourselves.  They are a quiet retired couple, active hikers, and very friendly.

You are given a lockbox code and arrival information, so you are free to arrive/depart when it's convenient for you. I am just a few minutes away if anything comes up, and I'm available 24/7. I enjoy making sure our guests are comfortable and respect your privacy, so unless you ask me to, nobody will be coming over unannounced. The gardener does come for a few hours on Wednesday mornings.

We are about 150 yards from a quiet residential road that only sees a handful of cars each day. Most of the homes on our road are tucked back into the forest on long driveways. Just strolling up and down our road is a lovely hike, with plenty of plants and wildlife to take in. No streetlights, no light pollution, no noise. Just peace and quiet.

It's a 2 minute drive, or a lovely 1.5 mile, 20 minute walk (or 5 minute bike ride) from your doorstep into Point Reyes Station (town) or to the gourmet Perry's Deli in Inverness Park. The Point Reyes National Seashore is minutes away by car, foot, or bike. You could easily spend the entire day without touching your car.

We love to travel. We prefer vacation homes for their self-sufficiency and privacy. Frustratingly, we often found that reserving a vacation rental was unnecessarily tedious, or downright impossible. We experienced confusing websites, stale calendars, slow (or no) responses to inquiries, office hours, poor photos, misleading descriptions, excessive fees, and don't get me started about security deposits. And that's just the reservation process! The properties themselves were sometimes wonderful, but often fell short of their potential, primarily through what we'll call 'Attention to Details'.

My wife and I have the combined experience of nearly three decades in boutique hospitality and lodging management. Hosting guests and ensuring that they have the best experience possible is what we love to do. We put this experience and passion to work for our guests and the property owners we represent to create a win-win experience for both.

Outstanding property

Our family of 4 absolutely loves Point Reyes. Normally, we just go for the day, but over our kid's winter break we decided to stay for a couple of nights. We found this house and inquired about renting it. The property manager was very responsive and friendly. We also spoke with the owner, who offered some suggestion of things to do.

The home and property are both fantastic! The view towards Tomales Bay is amazing and the surrounding woods are peaceful. The home is thoughtfully designed, very comfortable and well equipped. It served as the perfect home base for a few days of hikes, walks and relaxation. The location is very convenient for reaching any number of areas in and around Point Reyes - close to town, very close to the marsh, close to Limontour and easy access to Sir Francis Drake and on out towards the northern and western ends of the park.

I still fondly remember our time here. We definitely plan to return to this home as time permits.
