Peaceful sea view
Quiet location with great view, plenty of outdoor space, nice pool and Hanni was lovely. Could do with a little updating and steps to the pool are very slippery, one member of our party slipped and hurt himself twice. No information regarding things like rubbish collection and would struggle with kitchen utensils if villa was at full capacity.
Castellammare del Golfo Villa
We enjoyed our stay at the villa. There was enough room for 7 adults with one bedroom not being used.
The villa was well located for trips to Palermo, San Vito di Capo, Zingaro, Scale dei Turchi. Very close to port of Castellamare del Golfo and Scopello. We loved Scopello and returned for coffee or dinner numerous times.
Hanny was lovely to deal with and quickly addressed an issue we had with wifi/internet. She also delivered treats for us - yum.
The villa is older and while kept up with well, could use some updating. The two bedrooms in the lower level were very warm at night (no AC) and the fans didn't help as much as we hoped. We also would have enjoyed more furniture/chairs/loyngers around the pool.
Amazing property and fantastic owner!
We had such a memorable trip to Sicily and loved this location! We used all rooms available as there were 7 adults and 3 kids (5yr, 2yr, and 1yr). There were plenty of bathrooms and showers for us all and both a high chair and pack and play were provided for the little one. There were two large common areas inside and 3 outside to allow for family time or privacy, depending on what we wanted. The pool wasn't opened yet (mid April) but it looks like it would have been lovely. The views were amazing - mountains and sea! The only (minor) down side is that the wifi and cell phone signal was pretty spotty. We didn't mind though as it forced us to shut off and just be on vacation ;)
Hanni was so welcoming and very helpful with any questions or concerns that we had. We stayed over Easter and she brought pastries (I believe Cassatelle) Easter morning. They were delicious and much appreaciated.
We actually had an unfortunate weather situation come up - a wind storm like I've never heard before! We lost power for 14 hours and Hanni came from a personal trip to Palermo to make sure we were ok and offer up one of her other homes for us to use to shower which is above and beyond out expectations. She was on the phone with the hydro company trying to sort out the problem (nothing she could do) and apologized many times despite it being out of her control. From the sounds of it this is not a common occurance as the people who own the place next door were struggling with us to figure out how to manually open the gates.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a "home" like feel while on vacation in Sicily. We took day trips out so a car is a must for this location. From here we went to Agrigento, Erice, and Caltanissetta and it was all manageable (30 min to 2.5 hour drives). There was plenty locally in Scopello that we didn't get around to seeing but drove through on our last day there. I wish we had thought to explore the local area more.
Overall a great experience and I am so happy we decided to book this home!
Everything we needed
We were a group of 6 so had plenty of space here. The only niggle we had was that the wi-fi was a bit hit and miss - but so was the telephone signal due to the location.
This would be perfect for two families as there are bedrooms, bathrooms and living area on both levels.
Fantastic views and great location!
We stayed at Villa Hanni for one week in August - we were 11 of us, 6 adults and 5 children. The villa was more than adequate for us in terms of size. It is split in two levels , with three bedrooms and living rooms on each level. There is air conditioning on the upper level and fans are provided for the lower level. Although we were not required to use the A/C or the fans much as the house was pretty cool. There are two big living rooms and we hardly used them. The bbq area and the balcony area were used the most , even for breakfast. There are simply amazing views of the blue sea with lovely sail boats and yatchs. At night, the sea lights up with fishing boats!
The villa location is ideal to visit Scopello , Castellamare Del Golfo, Erice , Trapani , Marsala , Segeste and Palermo. There are supermarkets within a short distance from the villa plus lot of places to eat in the marina at Castellamare Del Golfo. We sometimes cooked at the villa too. The kitchen is well equipped too but could do with a few additional utensils or maybe get some new ones. On our first day , we did have trouble switching on the oven but the owner responded very promptly by sending somebody to help out (we couldn’t locate the switch!)
I must mention about Mrs Lamprecht, the owner - she is a fantastic person and really kind and helpful lady. She even bought some new fans for us.
We had arrived very late in the night as our flight was delayed but she was waiting for us patiently at the agreed location. She also allowed us to check out later in the day as our flight was late in the night from Palermo.
The pool is lovely and the children spent a lot of time there! Plenty of fig trees around the garden, we did help ourselves to some ripe figs. I would definitely recommend this villa for anyone who is travelling to that part of Sicily.
Really lovely stay , made wonderful memories!!! Thank you Mrs Lamprecht and Francesco!! All the best...
The Most Wonderful Stay and the Best Hosts
My family and I had the most wonderful stay here. From the sparkling clean villa, the wonderful grounds, the fantastic pool and the best hosts ever! Within easy driving distance was wonderful beaches, the beautiful ocean, all things needed and many restaurants. Thank you again from all of us, we cannot wait for a return visit.
Few kilometres away from Castellammare del Golfo, Scopello is an ancient Arabic hamlet whose beauty captivates its visitors with the magic of its seventeenth-century “baglio”, its majestic stacks, its crystalline sea of Guidaloca, its historic “tonnara”, an old complex of fascinating buildings where tunas are worked out for the commercialization.
Scopello is a very quiet village that will also catch your senses with its colours, smells and landscapes. You can really admire the real Sicilian culture and tradition and try the excellent fish restaurants of this area.
Moreover, you are not far from the best natural reserve of Sicily, the Zingaro, which extends until San Vito Lo Capo, for about 7 kilometres. Here you can admire a large variety of plants and a rich fauna which you will rarely find in other parts of the island. The natural reserve does not only encompass the clear blue sea and the coast, but also a complex network of paths, shelters and other amenities.
