Bay and deep sea fishing is excellent with many charter boats in the marina. 30 minutes away is the USS Lexington and right next door is the Texas State Aquarium. We are located approximately a 2 minute drive to town which is easy to get to while also offering serenity and peace from the hustle and bustle. If you are a golfer, you can grab your clubs and head over to the Palmilla Beach Resort and Golf Club just down the road. This course offers greens on both sides of the highway with a pro shop and The Black Marlin restaurant.

Plenty of space for all 9 of us to dine together, sleep, BBQ, and visit.

A little further from the beach than I was lead to believe. Maybe we were not going the right way. A map of the path would be helpful. Pesky fire ants in the back grass, but we hosed them away. We decided to get a golf cart after we got there and the owner was able to bring in to our door step within 45 minutes. Did not have access to the garage, but I did not ask about that initially. Great property!

Nice Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely would be back. Having said that, there are some things that would have made it more enjoyable. We searched for a house with no stairs because of a recent surgery that prohibits climbing. Directly inside the front door, there is a two stair drop down to climb to get into the living area. Normally, this would be no big deal; but with a large leg brace, it was difficult for my mother to maneuver. The coffee maker was in bad shape. It makes coffee, but the unit is old and the heavy crust on the burner can't be cleaned. The oven door handle needs repair. It has been rigged to open. We cooked most of our meals on the stove. The burners were really filthy underneath. Upgrading these two things would be a plus. At a minimum give them a good scrubbing. The living room is spacious and perfect for hanging with the family. The backyard is nice and private. The neighborhood was quiet and close to activities. It's close to the beach, but it's a car ride away. There is no short cut straight to it, as most short cuts are blocked off. Again, not a big deal, just good to know. The air conditioner was ice cold and perfect for the Texas heat. I called the owner with a couple of questions and he was readily available and helpful. With a few minor upgrades this would be our "go to" home in Port A.

Great place to stay in Port A!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed spending the winter at the Xanadune house. The house had everything we needed and plenty of room for occasional guests. The fenced backyard is nice and private with a wonderful covered patio, a gas grill and lots of seating. Marty was always very helpful and prompt with anything we needed. It's just a short drive down the road to the endless beach and a short drive the other direction to the town and the shipping channel. It was so fun to sit in the park by the channel and watch people fishing for huge black drum, see the ferries crossing 24/7 and be amazed at the size of the ships passing through to Corpus Christi. We would highly recommend Xanadune!
