New Years get away
We loved this cabin! It was nice and cozy. The fireplace was amazing. We enjoyed near by hiking as well as a nice walks around the lake. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the water more.would definitely recommend this place for a small group or a family looking for a quiet get away.
A beautiful cabin on the hill.
Everything there was so wonderful. It felt just like home, It was very nice to have everything there for us.We had a lot of fun to. It was so peaceful and cozy, It could not have been any better! A big Thank You, From Todd & Jeanette Carpenter,
A nice rustic lodging in the woods
We had a pleasant stay at this house. It has a nice cozy cabin feel but at the same time has tall glass windows giving it a modern feel. Our family of five, with three young kids, stayed for a week and enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The kitchen is pretty large and all the utensils we needed were provided. Sharon was very friendly and prompt in communicating with us. The house is also within short driving distance to a gorgeous lake and gas and groceries.
Wonderful spot to renew, refresh your life! We were able to stretch out and recharge ourselves in this little piece of heaven. Being within Hungry Mother State Park without camping was just what we needed. The home was accommodating in a rustic environment. All the amenities without the dirt floors! This lovely home had it all. We lacked for nothing.
Relaxing weekend away from the concerns of the city.
We really enjoyed our stay immensely. We will definitely be back! Sharon met us upon arrival and gave us a personal tour of the property as well as her cellphone number so that we could call or text if there were any issues. There were none. The WiFi is superb! We ran multiple devices constantly without any issues including phones, iPads and an AppleTV. The only cell tower near the park is a Verizon tower. So, if you don’t have Verizon you will need to make calls via WiFi. That was not a problem because all 5 of us were smart enough to have iPhones! All your Apple services work via WiFi, including iMessage, FaceTime, and AppleMusic. Sharon has just installed a fabulous wrap-around deck. The grill is located there. There is a fire pit on the ground level with plenty of wood nearby to burn. We were at the fire pit every night of our stay. The cabin is not as isolated as the pictures imply. That can be either a good thing or be a bad thing depending on how you feel. We were happy to have some neighbors in close proximity. Yes, as some reviewers have commented, one of the cinder block homes nearby is seriously ugly. But, the creek running through the front yard babbles and trickles with the most beautifully soothing sounds. I was caught off gaurd by how much I enjoyed hearing it. You instantaneously feel at peace. All the amenities are great. A couple of reviewers said they couldn’t work the stove. I don’t know why. It seemed simple and straight forward to our wives who used it. (The men were on the grill, the women in the kitchen. Don’t judge us. That’s just how we work best at the moment!) All the beds were super comfortable. I opened all the blinds in the upstairs bedroom the night before so that I could see the view in the morning. Amazing. I felt like I was in the hanging forest in the movie Avatar! We loved this place! It’s special. You won’t regret booking it. Just don’t pick MY week!
Clean, comfortable. Excellent location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Everything we needed was provided and there is easy access to the park. Very peaceful and relaxing.
