New Years get away

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! It was nice and cozy. The fireplace was amazing. We enjoyed near by hiking as well as a nice walks around the lake. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the water more.would definitely recommend this place for a small group or a family looking for a quiet get away.

Nice hillside chalet

  • 3 of 5

We really enjoyed our time in the cabin. It was comfortably furnished and clean. Ms Tilson met us upon our arrival and allowed an early check-in. She gave us a quick tour, told us to call if we had problems then she left. We had a couple of notes. For one, there was no canoe or kayak as in the listing. We searched high and low but couldn't find them. The partial rolls of toilet paper were inadequate. There was no dishwashing liquid. If you go here for the water view you'll be disappointed. The trickle of the creek sounds great and was enjoyable but the real view is of a delapidated cinder block building that should have been bulldozed long ago. One final concern is the air conditioning. Being there when we visited was fine because it cooled off in the evening. If it was a hot summer night, you'd suffer upstairs where there is no a/c. To end on a good note - though I have listed concerns, it was a great stay. The huge Windows upstairs were great. The porch was perfect for sitting and enjoying the woods views. The cable tv was good. It is a quick hike to the state park..

Great time in Tennesee

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the cabin was great, all the comforts of home. A short drive to town for supplies or dinner at a restaurant. Rain shortened our trip by a day, but all in all a good time. Would highly recommend AAA+++.

Exactly as pictured!

It was a perfect place for a 'girls long weekend! Sharon was very easy to work with. As we arrived she was just finished cleaning up from the family that just left. My friends and I felt right at home right from the start. The view from the upstairs bedroom was wonderful, the kitchen had everything we needed and everything was clean . We used the indoor wood burning fireplace, the outside fire pit, the camp chairs provided downstairs. We walked right into the downstairs and stored our bikes in the garage, it was nice to not have to leave the bikes on our cars. We brought our kayaks so we paddled as often as we could. We hiked one day all the way around the lake....it was a gorgeous day. We shared kitchen duties so we never ate out but the town is just a few miles down the road, very convenient. All in all, we could not have found a better place to meet, the price was reasonable. Just be prepared to do the steps often as you go into the bottom level and then up stairs or go up stairs to the front deck to enter that way. I can't wait to bring my husband there! Thank you Tilsons!

Great place to truly rest and relax with all the comforts and surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Great place with all the amenities and more. The house is nice comfortable and sits in a perfect surrounding that augments its characters. The state park just down the short road has a lot of different activities to enjoy. Nice lake to take a walk or hike around or just hang out and enjoy nature or maybe a BBQ to end your day. Whatever your desires may be you can find it at the house and in the area. I plan on going back for sure. Sharon and Michael are very kind hosts and sincerely go out of their way to see that your stay is a memorable one. Thank you Sharon it was a pleasure to work with you and your timely responses were greatly appreciated. Thank You Ray W.
