We loved this cabin! It was nice and cozy. The fireplace was amazing. We enjoyed near by hiking as well as a nice walks around the lake. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the water more.would definitely recommend this place for a small group or a family looking for a quiet get away.

A comfy cabin for a family of four

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our family of four. The owners, Sharon and Michael, welcomed us at arrival and gave us a quick tour. The whole place was clean and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and I easily found everything we could have needed. The a/c worked well, and I was really thankful that there was a washer and dryer in the basement. The park was nice, the restaurant was delicious, and we weren't too far from the local grocery store/shopping center. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would highly recommend it!

Like a free house!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin in the woods is truly wonderful default. The entire place is clean, comfortable, will equiped kitchen, comfortable beds. I would come again and again, just enough trails to walk through and the beauty and magic of the sound of the creek! I highly recommend it! Thanks Shannon!

Nice hillside chalet

  • 3 of 5

We really enjoyed our time in the cabin. It was comfortably furnished and clean. Ms Tilson met us upon our arrival and allowed an early check-in. She gave us a quick tour, told us to call if we had problems then she left. We had a couple of notes. For one, there was no canoe or kayak as in the listing. We searched high and low but couldn't find them. The partial rolls of toilet paper were inadequate. There was no dishwashing liquid. If you go here for the water view you'll be disappointed. The trickle of the creek sounds great and was enjoyable but the real view is of a delapidated cinder block building that should have been bulldozed long ago. One final concern is the air conditioning. Being there when we visited was fine because it cooled off in the evening. If it was a hot summer night, you'd suffer upstairs where there is no a/c. To end on a good note - though I have listed concerns, it was a great stay. The huge Windows upstairs were great. The porch was perfect for sitting and enjoying the woods views. The cable tv was good. It is a quick hike to the state park..

Owner's Response: Please accept my apologies. It is our goal at Brookside Nook to provide an escape from all of the day to day worries and concerns. I truly wish you would have called. Let me take a moment for your concerns. The canoes, kayaks, longboards, and paddle-boats are all located at the waterfront and are managed by the State Park. The lake trail is about 500 feet from the cabin and will lead directly to them. I appreciate the comment and I have updated the pictures to be helpful for future residents. The second major concern was the upstairs a/c. In the past, open windows, night air, and strategically placed fans were the answer. You will be glad to know we have installed a brand new HVAC unit for the upstairs. The other concerns are disappointing and have also been addressed. Upon arrival, if needed, a full bottle of dishwashing liquid can be found under the kitchen sink. Three full rolls of toilet paper can be found in the cabinets under the bathroom sinks and more surplus supplies will be available in the linen closets, pantry, and laundry room. Once again, I regret that your stay was tarnished in any way with these concerns and I appreciate the feedback. I hope we have the opportunity in the future to provide a place for relaxation.
