Overview

About the property

Hot Tub, awesome KING bed, VIEW, and the coolest little cabin one could dream of

The Simple Life Cabin is the third cabin of the Snowlee Collective. Check out our other two properties to see how we do it: The JimJack Shack (www.vrbo.com/461023) and the Mt. Baker Birdhouse (www.vrbo.com/348877) Both of these cabins have been very well received and we expect the Simple Life Cabin to be the best yet. And why shouldn't it? This cabin should appeal to all. It is quiet, clean, beautiful and comfortable. Bring your significant other here, and revel in their company. Or come alone, just you and your book; the one you are writing. This place is worthy of a masterpiece!fcg

About eli lee

We live in Bellingham with our daughter and two dogs, in a perfect little neighborhood right next to the grade school of our choice. My Wife and I met at Grahams bar right down the street in Glacier. I proposed to her at one of our other cabins; we still love the woods and solitude of Glacier

eli lee purchased this house in 2014

Why eli lee chose Northwest & Islands

The Simple Life Cabin has been on our radar for a LONG time. We have always admired it from afar, and when it came up for sale we immediately purchased it; no hesitation. We love the architecture of it, and the way it glides across the landscape.

What makes this house unique

Nestle in to the Simple life. It isn't hard to do.

Third time; loved it.

  • 5 of 5

This is our third time staying at the simple life cabin, twice as a base for a week of Mt. Baker area hiking and once as a quiet get away. It will continue to be our first choice when we return. Glacier is very peaceful place to get away.

It is a small cabin, suitable for a solo or couple but with an open air design up that makes it seem large. The house is set up such that the entire backside has windows overlooking a fern and tree filled gulley; lots of privacy. We enjoyed eating our meals inside, (some we cooked, others were takeout) and in general hanging around on the couch looking out. The hot tub was a daily treat, and there's a hiking trail into the woods that is just past the driveway. We walked this one evening to the river. The community has a friendly vibe to it.

The accommodations were as advertised, the response from the owners was quick, the price was reasonable, WiFi worked well, and there is a house phone (no cell service).

For food, there's Chair Nine Pizza w/in walking distance; Milano's/Graham's five minutes drive away; North Fork Pizza Brewery and Rifugio's about 30 min away. The restaurant in Maple Falls is reopening too, ten minutes away. And of course Wake and Bakery five minutes away. We stopped by there every morning.

The kitchen had all we needed in terms of pots/pans/utensils/coffee pot. Bring your own personal items like soap/shampoo etc. and food items which is standard for VRBO places. towels provided; Bed was comfortable. The place was clean and immaculate upon our arrival.

Be sure to have all the info printed out since there's no cell/wifi in town to pull it up. It was easy.

Also, the owners do a good job with providing info before your visit, and a notebook in the place for info relevant to your visit and what to do etc.

Pretty cabin close to Mt. Baker

  • 5 of 5

We booked the Simple Life Cabin as a home base for hiking in the Mt. Baker wilderness area. It was a bit of a splurge, considering cheaper places can be booked in the area, but it was worth it! The pictures, although beautiful, don't really do the cabin justice. The space is quaint but beautiful, and the view cannot be beat. In fact, one night we drove around the neighborhood and concluded the Simple Life Cabin has one of the best lots and best house designs--the windows offer total privacy and a lovely woods view. The kitchen had what we needed (and descent food is nearby, so there's no need to cook dinner), the bed was comfortable, and it's beautiful space. As a note--there was no bar soap or body wash for the shower, so be sure to bring your own. We would stay here again in an instant.

Very tasteful, clean, and comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting.

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the simple life cabin for our three night stay. Nice design, clean, beautiful. Felt like staying in a treehouse with complete privacy. We had pretty lousy weather (90 degrees and brown skies from the BC fires), but still had a great time. When we hiked up Skyline Divide trail it was really hazy, but 30 minutes after we reached the ridge the sky pretty much cleared and we had an amazing view of Mt. Baker. The road to this and other trails is just a mile down the road from the cabin, so very convenient. We'll definitely stay here again when we return.

The cabin is stunning, nestles within the tress it feels super private. I hadn't realised how equipped the little community was with regards to activities, I will be back and next time I will have all the bats, racquets and balls in tow.

The Simple Life Cabin is located right on the edge of the Mt. Baker National Forest. This is a quiet corner of the world. Immerse yourself in the forest. Dominating sounds include those of the woodpecker, owl and robin. There is moss everywhere; these stones don't roll! Summertime hikes are in abundance, and winter can be astoundingly serene. Rarely does it snow at the Simple Life, but between the months of January and July, a thirty minute drive will take you straight to the deepest average snowpack in the US, if not the world!
