Beautiful Place - Walking distance from downtown, sauna, beautiful garden and views from backyard.

Loved this place! Spotless and we walked town every night. The mornings in the backyard garden were beautiful, we saw wild turkeys and deer. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable beds, we will be coming back for sure!

Reviewer Comments:

The pictures on the website never show the neighborhood and in this case I can see why. The inside of the house was very nice, but the trash had been left in the inside box and the two cans outside were full. A dirty towel was left hanging behind the bedroom door and spider webs were in several different corners around the house. When we cut on the window unit A/C upstairs, it leaked through the ceiling and onto the bedroom floor downstairs. The second floor toilet quit filling up and flushing. Each time I called maintenance, they came out timely and fixed the issues, but I would rather have not had these issues. The A/C drained outside the next day after they worked on it, but then it leaked inside again on the third day. Overall, the stay was ok, but I would not rent it again.

Reviewer Comments:

I should have known. With all of the "fees," the listed price literally doubled to about $600 per night. Outrageous. But I was looking to give friends from England the royal treatment, so I splurged. Shouldn't have. Wasn't worth the cost. Some parts were nice enough, but other things were NOT. The place was so hot when we arrived that even with all the higgeldy piggeldy retrofited ac's, we couldn't get the interior down to manageable temps. Though it was supposed to have three bedrooms, one was really a downstairs annex with a pullout couch. None of the bedrooms had an ensuite, and one bathroom was on the bottom floor down a very steep and narrow stair. The one upstairs had to serve the top two floors. And, get this, the mattresses were still covered in the plastic that they were wrapped in when bought. Not a reasonable mattress cover, mind you, but actual plastic wrap. With the ridiculous interior temps AND sleeping on plastic, our entire party was miserable, having spent a sleepless night. There weren't instructions for how to run things, like the stove and baseboard heaters (which mysteriously popped on), which was silly. Basic instructions for tv, appliances, etc., are a must. The furniture was nice, as was the proximity to Yosemite, but the neighborhood was shabby, the house not entirely clean, and WELL below what I would expect for $600 per night!

Lovely place, everything worked great, the only thing was we couldn't turn off the heater on the upper room, but other than that I give the place a 5 Star

Reviewer Comments:

When we arrived at the cabin I was informed by our daughter (Esther) that the oven was not working. She called Century 21 and was put in touch with a gentleman who was able to email instructions to us pertaining to this. I am not sure what we would have done if he was not available, this being Thanksgiving eve. Later that night, we discovered that we did not have any HOT WATER!! Our son-in-law went out to the hot water heater and discovered that someone had tried to fix it, however they by-passed the cold water and this did not resolve the problem. Apparently it was a "quick-fix" but was not done correctly. He was able to complete the repair and our hot water returned, but that was a huge concern since that meant washing dishes, taking showers, etc. would be an issue!! The next thing that occured is the toilet got backed up. I know the commodes are low pressure, however it did not seem like this problem was going away. Once again, my son-in-law was able to make the repair and avoid having to call a plumber on Thanksgiving eve!!! Finally, there was very, very low water pressure and it was extremely difficult to wash dishes and take showers. WE were NOT able to remedy this problem. The living accomadations were nice, though the upstairs needs a better source of heating (and the downstairs). I would recommend having Oven instructions posted in the kitchen as this was a huge inconvenience. Also, the water pressure needs to be fixed. I feel as though it would be right to refund part of our money as hiring a repair person or plumber would have been quite costly and we were able to resolve the issues with someone in our party. Just a suggestion. Thank you for your consideration and assistance. Hopefully, our suggestions will enable improvements to be made for future vacatiioners. Sincerely, Mike Kaplan
