European in design with Mexican flair, La Coccinella is located in a small condominium private keyed/gated complex of only twelve units. It is exceptional for its beautiful private garden and inviting tropical garden pool. This unit is located on the top floor (third level). In addition it has a stunning 650 sq.ft. private rooftop terrace with a palapa, shower, night lighting, comfortable chairs and lounges for private sun bathing and a gas fired BBQ. After a day at the beach, it is a real treat to shower, gas or charcoal grill, and relax on the roof with your favorite bottle of wine and romantic setting with tropical plants and flowers on roof top.

The condo has one or two bedrooms all with exterior windows and patio door overlooking tropical plants, palms, and flowers and one large elegant bathroom. It has a large private balcony off the living-room that faces the garden and pool. The apartment is fully air-conditioned with sound insulated front doors and windows and is freshly painted. There is dedicated WIFI, digital cable TV with many English speaking stations, and there is a security safe in the bedroom. Bottled water is supplied.

The Kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals which can be enjoyed in the dining area, on the balcony or the private roof terrace. This unit also has a dedicated parking space for your use. What makes this condo unique

With the optional second bedroom and bath the couch also is a sleeper sofa. Unique 7000 SQFT Multimillion dollar gym, aerobic, and cardio facility 25 meters from your private suite. State of art facility, "Evolve Gym" dance, bike, aerobic, spinning classes available.

We spent Tuesday to Tuesday in our condo here. Mamita's and Kool beach clubs are a five minute walk away, maybe 3 depending on your eagerness. If you use the cool beach club, be sure to take advantage of the hour-long massages that are half the price you would pay in the states.

The main drag through Playa is 30 seconds away. That means that great restaurants and shopping are right around the corner. Some music is across the street even until 2 a.m., but it never kept us awake. Apparently there are really good sound barriers in the condo. It is perfect to listen to on the rooftop.

Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked great which was very important to us. Three units, one in the main living area, and one in each bedroom. The rooftop gas grilling and relaxing were terrific. The patio overlooking the pool is both peaceful and beautiful.

Our host for the property took great care of us throughout the week though little was needed from him because everything is in order. We are clean freaks particularly in regard to the shower, and the shower was very clean. Of course, the water pressure is not as high as we experience in our own home, but it was still more than enough for a good shower.

Overall, amazing accommodations. We will definitely be back.

This property was wonderful! Clean and everything was within walking distance.

We loved this property. It was clean and close to fifth ave and to the beach. The property manager was always helpful and answered all our questions. We received our damage deposit back within the first week home which was nice. The only thing we were a bit disappointed in was thinking the roof top terrace was our own private one as worded in the advertisement but it was shared by all condo members. There were also a couple of days that we went without water because they were having some problems with the plumbing but we would definitely stay there again.

Magnificent stay!!

My wife and I stayed at this condo from 7/22 - 7/29 and had a great time. Everything from the booking process to check-in was so smooth and easy. The condo is beautiful with everything you need and is so close to 5th Avenue and the beach. There is no need for a rental car at all, everything is in walking distance. The local management was in regular contact to ensure we had everything that was needed and arranged transport to and from the airport. I couldn't have been happier with our stay.

Tip: Definitely take advantage of the condo complex's private pool, very refreshing and quiet.

Excellent stay!

My husband and I had an excellent stay at this penthouse. It's updated, clean, comfortable, cute and so close to the beach! We hope to come back soon and stay here again. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go - restaurants and shops galore! I loved the balcony. It's in a nice quiet and safe area. Great property manager! We would definitely recommend staying here.

Outstanding apartment in a great location

Had a completely delightful stay here for a little over a week in January 2015. Apartment is located in a perfect central location, half a block from all the action of 5th avenue and right down 28th from Mamitas, Kool Beach, and the beach itself. The apartment itself was clean and cozy with a full kitchen, lovely balcony, and rooftop deck for watching the sun rise or set. Two spacious bedrooms, the apartment very comfortably fits four and you could probably squeeze a fifth in on the couch without issue.

Wow!!!!! What personality, charm, very comfortable with great air if needed and large gorgeous showers, extremely roomy and very well designed with beautiful decor, dream like private pool, and hacienda type courtyard that is absolutely beautiful and extremely well maintained. The location was fabulous with Mamitas Beach just a short 180 meters which was less than 5 min walk. Just between 5th Ave and 1st is the perfect location for going downstairs to the many Italian, Brazilian, and Mexican restaurants, shops and boutigues, Starbucks, and wow! The frozen yogurt was awesome. I thought I was going to gain weight but with all the fantastic menus, but I was spared with the walking down the pebble stone street for one mike of shops, restaurants, galore and then Great workouts in a unbelievable well equipped gym where I enjoyed the free weights and machines while my wife enjoyed the aerobic classes on cycling. And the multitude of aerobic equipment Million Dollar Gym, known as Evolve which was included for us both in addition to the great price on the condo!! This place is unreal and a dream. The owner has outdid it with the beautiful private sun deck rooftop patio on top of this unique condo with lounge chairs , barbecue grill,mood lighting, beautiful plants and another Wow! Of a outdoor tiled shower for cooling off after being at the beach or sun bathing. I loved the location. The condo has brand new sound proof windows and doors for those who enjoy their solitude. My wife and I reunited with the atmosphere of this beautiful condo. We had weekly maid service so we were not disturbed. They gave us the option of daily service but we didn't desire this. On a scale of 1-10, undoubtedly this is a 9. We are coming back!!! Teamoplaya is the manager downstairs and Marissa the owner was fabulous with checkin and arranging anything that we needed. Thank you for our wonderful stay.

1) Tulum is about a 45 minutes drive south of Playa del Carmen. The only Mayan temple built directly on the sea. Spectacular, but arrive early to avoid the crowds. 2) Coba is about 1.5 hours south west of Playa del Carmen, inland from Tulum. Follow the signs as you approach Tulum. Coba is the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan peninsula and is isolated in the middle of the jungle; very different from the others. Take mosquito repellent, lots of water and wear long pants and socks. It is best to leave home at first light and get to Coba before the tour buses; for a unique, authentic experience. There is considerable walking required, bicycles are available for rent. If planning to visit Tulum, go to Coba first then stop at Tulum afterwards. 3) Chichen Itza is the best-known and most visited ruin. It is about a three-hour drive from town. You can find packages in town that will take you there. If you decide to go on your own, you will have to drive towards Cancun to get the main highway (toll road/quota) to Chichen Itza (visit Valladolid nearby for lunch, it is an authentic, unchanged Mayan farming town.) This toll road continues on towards Merida, which is also worth a visit, but would require an overnight stay.

OTHER DAY TOURS: Xcaret and Xel-Ha are theme parks, great for kids, lots of activities and discoveries. Xcaret has an excellent evening cultural spectacle and Xel-Ha has an extensive outdoor natural aquarium. Somewhat more low key would be Akumal and nearby Tres Rios* which are ecological parks offering various activities; such as cenote exploration*, hiking, horseback riding*, swimming, snorkeling, etc. These tours and many others are easily purchased on 5th Avenue and at Wal-Mart (often 10%less.)
