About the property

You will gaze up at the Eiffel Tower every morning when exiting this gorgeous building, from this truly Parisian apartment that features a very quiet and relaxing stay for those who seek peace of mind and tranquility! It features extra high ceilings, very handsome and tasteful decorations, plus separate kitchen, bathroom and even a large walk-in closet. It is located on the ground floor, but not on the street side, rather, on a quiet courtyard.

You will be just a few minute walk to reach the base of the Eiffel Tower, as it looms high above you, beckoning you to be whisked up one of its 4 elevators, or for those more adventurous types- you can climb up to its second story and they won’t even charge you to do this!

This is a very prestigious and luxury neighborhood, home to several embassies and consulates, yet almost a private street, with little traffic. Your neighborhood is rich in stores, shops, with a great bakery and butcher just around the corner. There are several cafes and restaurants within a few minutes stroll; less than 10 minutes. Just a minute walk from your building lies the expanse of the Champs de Mars, a beautiful large park and gardens that sits between the Ecole Militaire and the Tower. It offers much more than pretty flowers to look at; get into step with the many joggers there every day, including the military men running in unison some early mornings, or use the basketball courts, or let the kids loose in the playgrounds. There are even frequent puppet shows for the toddlers, plus they can try their hand at racing peddle-push miniature cars around a short makeshift track if they like, or even pony rides!

Of course, you can find several snack bars, a merry-go-round and even an idyllic rusticated little Café. Take time to sit on a bench and watch the parade of locals walking their dogs, sometimes using them as a catalyst to meet new friends with pets as well. The summertime brings out a sea of people, just relaxing and picnicking on the grass in front of the Tower, with 'Ohh’s and Ahh’s' escaping every time the Tower’s light show goes off on the hour .....another freebie!

You are sure to admire the building, every time you go in. It is a posh, elegant, turn of the 20th century hand-carved stone façade apartment building with beautiful iron and glass entry doors, carpeted and marble floors and an antique wood and iron elevator. Luckily though, you will not need to use this, as you will be on the same ground floor as the street, towards the back of the building. There is excellent security in the entry of the building, for this secluded neighborhood. Your apartment is extra large at 54 m2 (about 580 ft2) and has one bedroom with a double size bed for two adults. In the living room is a comfortable double pullout couch. Also there is a fold away twin size single bed cot which is kept in the closet for a young adult; this unit is about 6.5 feet long a 3 feet wide.

You will instantly notice how very quiet and serene the apartment is, as it faces on the back courtyard. After a busy day of sightseeing and shopping, you will be glad to return to this apartment where you can assured a peaceful stay and sleep. You will also note the extra high ceiling with ornate and gorgeous hand carved moldings, on it and above the doorways, plus the rich decoration. Thailand made silk curtains, carpeting throughout and well made furniture.

The bathroom has a new large walk in shower (Nov 2013), a double pedestal sink, and a washer/dryer combo. The WC is completely separate, and can be accessed through either the bedroom or the living room. The galley style kitchen was painted a bright and cheerful yellow and is separate from the rest of the apartment. It has new cupboards and a new floor (2012). You are close to several metros for transport; the Motte Picquet station has lines 8, 10, and 6 and is only a 5 minute walk. Or, you can access the RER line C at the foot of the Tower to go Versailles, Disneyland, St. Michel and St. Germain area of Paris.

February 2010 upgrades include new paint plus a comfortable new double size sofa bed in living room. In March of 2011, all new carpeting has been installed throughout, plus new chairs, new double size very high quality “Swiss System” bed. In 2012 the cabinets and flooring in the kitchen were redone along with a new stove/oven. In 2013, a new large walk-in shower was installed. With all of these updates and more to come, this apartment is sure to please!!

The outside courtyard and window ledges are maintained by the building itself and can sometimes appear a bit dark, but this should not detract from your enjoyment of the property. No one is allowed access to the courtyard.

Come and experience this elegant neighborhood and be assured a quiet and relaxing stay. Enjoy this grand Parisian home with so many attractions just outside your door on the expanse of greenery that is the Champs de Mars! And be sure to go the top, almost 1000 feet, of the Eiffel Tower, any way you like!

I love, love, love this apartment! The location is perfect and it is so reasonably priced. The neighborhood is fantastic and you really feel like a temporary resident rather than a tourist. There are lots of restaurants close by.

Truly exceptional

We've stayed with Vacation in Paris before and have always received excellent service and accommodations, but this apartment was truly exceptional.The manager showed us around explained everything made sure we under stood the lock got us on the internet before she left and came back to replace the one burned out light bulb.
