Heron creek cottage is located between historic port madison and fay bainbridge waterfront park on the northern end of bainbridge island. Set on a hill nestled on the edge of a douglas fir forest, heron creek cottage views a glimpse of port madison bay and a pastoral landscape, home to friendly goats and chickens.
The sunny woodsy cottage is an ideal getaway for two people, but will sleep four (hide-a-bed couch in the living room). Heron creek has one bedroom with a very comfortable queen size bed, a separate bathroom (shower), full laundry facilities, a complete kitchen, and an inviting living room with cable tv, dvd, and wifi. An outside deck offers a patio table with umbrella that will seat six, and a bbq area. Convenient parking is next to the cottage. Guests are invited to tour the surrounding gardens that, for ten years, have been on local and national garden tours. Our location is an easy walking or bicycling distance to fay bainbridge park or frog rock, an island icon (each less than a mile). The seattle yacht club fo’c’s’le is a mile and a quarter jaunt for sailing enthusiasts. Three miles down the road is rolling bay community where guests may find a post office, bakery with fresh coffee, and “bay hay and feed”, a local feed, plant nursery, gift store, and country fashions. For convenience, guests may enjoy “via rosa”, excellent and authentic take out italian cuisine. A local jiffy mart is also available. Fresh eggs and seasonal produce from our vegetable garden can be picked and added to your meals. So come, relax and enjoy heron creek cottage. We look forward to meeting you.
Really enjoyed the stay (2 nights). The cottage has great woodsy views and a comfortable bed (and fold-out couch).
We loved our time at the cottage. This place is perfect if you're looking for a quiet spot to sip a cup of coffee and sit on the porch. We were able to enjoy summer rainstorms with the doors open. We enjoyed the porch and the goats and chickens nearby. The owners who live in houses on the property took us on a tour. They're highly educated and understand the biology at work in the area literally maybe better than anyone you could find. It was a fun experience. I wouldn't suggest this place for older or "prissy" people. My mother wouldn't have loved it because there were a few bugs around (it is a country cottage). It was clean enough for me but my mother wouldn't have thought it was an acceptable hotel cleaning job. :) Overall I would definitely stay at the cottage again.
Bainbridge Island is a beautiful place and the cottage is the perfect place to enjoy the island. The cabin was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen has all you need. The mattress was very comfortable. The couch was used for two family members to spend a night and it worked just fine. The view from the deck is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a good book It is the place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time, yet is also close to all that Bainbridge Island has to offer. You will have a few steps down to the cabin but they are easy to navigate. Tami and
Connie will do all they can to make it a pleasant stay.
We enjoyed exploring Bainbridge and taking in the sights and sounds of the Grand Old Fourth of July celebration. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Good firm mattress. The heat was a bit of an issue but it did cool off at night. We did bring an extra fan and that helped in the bedroom. The kitchen is fully stocked. Tami left a copy of her book for us to read and we really enjoyed reading about their adventures in raising Ostriches! The goats on the property are so friendly. Hearing the chickens in the morning clucking was a nice addition too. The cottage is within walking distance of Faye Bainbridge Park. Don’t forget to tour the Tami’s gardens too. It was a nice Birthday weekend for my husband despite the hot Seattle temperatures we had.
We spent the month of May at Tami's guest cottage. The comfort, beauty and peace we found awaiting us was perfect. We appreciated the very comfortable bed, a charming, cozy kitchen to cook in, and views out each window of the cottage. Walking in their gardens was as nice as going to Bloedel Reserve. Almost daily we enjoyed the deck, the breezes and forest views. Tami and Connie were very helpful, friendly and available when needed, and made us feel at home and like family. We highly recommend staying at Tami's cottage and will return soon for a visit. Don't miss staying here.
We spent two delightful nights at Tami's guest cottage recently and throughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a quiet nature retreat. The bed was quite comfortable and the cottage is furnished with everything one needs for a stay - especially if you want to cook as the kitchen is stocked with all the necessary cooking gear. Tami was easy to coordinate with and accommodating of a last minute date rescheduling request. Check in / check out was a breeze and although the cottage is located nearby other family homes, we felt like we had our privacy. The cottage is set back from the road just enough to make you appreciate the quiet of the woods while still being easily accessible to the restaurants and shops of "downtown Bainbridge". ONP is also a relatively easy drive from Tami's cottage and a great day trip option. Tami gave us some excellent suggestions for food (pick up take home from Via Rosa!) and parks to explore on Bainbridge. We would absolutely recommend a stay at the cottage and plan on returning ourselves soon!
