Fabulous Villa and view
We stayed at the Villa for 5 nights. Upon arrival we were meet by the Manager who greeted us with a bottle of Prosecco. He explained where everything was and how to operate the appliances. The Villa was spotless and comfortable to stay in. Anything we needed or wanted was sorted promptly by the Manager. It’s preferable to have a car, however there is a bus stop right outside. It was handy having a convenience store and cafe as well.
Our daughter enjoyed having her own space and loved using the spa that was for the sole use of the Villa occupants. I would recommend staying here and that the hosts were more than accommodating with all of our requests.
Perfect home base for exploring Amalfi coast
Furore is a GREAT place to start exploring the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend a car. Bus service available but intermittent. Property amazing because of dedicated (tight) parking space across from the entrance - key feature - parking on the street is treacherous & almost impossible. Driving along coast is documented as crazy - multiply expectation by 10. Roads are incredibly narrow, people drive fast, switchbacks everywhere, buses/trucks share the road (kind of), motorcycles/vespas pass in death wish on either side of your car. BE AWARE, CAREFUL, AND PATIENT WHILE DRIVING!!
Communication/check-in with Caterina & Vito was very easy. Apartment very clean - terrific bathrooms for each bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped. Air conditioning worked really well & available in all rooms. Washing machine (no dryer) great. Clothes line on terrace. Terrace has awesome views of both east and west. It was only one chair wide but spanned length of apartment. Separate patio/hot tub available. No grill. Interior well appointed. Only comment is that common room/kitchen didn't have comfortable furniture nor enough space for 4 adults to relax. If planning on using this as a place to sleep while being active all day - great. If you are looking for a place to relax & lounge a good deal of time, not great. Wouldn't recommend for people physically unable to use a lot of stairs because it takes a few flights to get to the apartment. Amalfi not for the physically faint of heart.
Groceries, cappuccino, ATM - across street.
Melchio restaurant - owned by Vito and Catarina. Food was superb!!! View awesome.
Cooking class with Vito - had a GREAT time making ravioli, gnocchi, fresh sauce, lemon chicken, & eggplant parmigiana. It was so good!
Visit touristy places early - Positano is crazy. We got there at 7am and left by 10am. No trouble parking in lot. Streets basically deserted. Got crowded as we left.
Capri - take earliest ferry from Sorrento (1 hr drive). Go straight to Anacapri & get on chairlift to Monte Solaro.
Santiero Dei Limoni hike. Go to Maiori (cute non-touristy town). Go to Reginna Square & find church (Santa Maria A Mare). Stair path from Maiori to Minori and back. Convent ruins separate off steep offshoot. Wind through lemon groves/ grapevines. Awesome hike! 1.5 miles up stairs - then down & same for return. Amazing pizza/beer at Mammato after!
Loved Al Pesce d'Oro ristorante!!
Do not go to Euroconca - worst meal EVER!!
Fun in Fiore
It was not the balcony shown in the picture. Also, one towel per person for the whole week. Need to add more towels
Everything was as advertised, and more.
Loved the appartment, we were a little worried sonce the adress that appears when you book is in front of our appartment and Google shows a setting that is not similar to the puctures. But rest assured, the place is as lovely as the pictures say and even more.
Waking up every morning and looking at the Amalfi coast and the lemon trees (right under our window) is incredible.
We picked the right place and have souvenirs for a long time.
Vitto and Caterina were very helpful for our setting.
La Ros Blu was an amazing condo in Furore. It was very clean, beautifully decorated with a view that can’t be beat. The apartment had everything we needed. Vitto and Caterina were so welcoming, it felt like family. Vitto showed us where everything was in the condo. In addition, he arranged transportation for us, a tour of a nearby winery, a boat for a trip to Capri - just to name a few. His restaurant, Melchio, had wonderful and fresh food. We also took a cooking class with Vitto which was also amazing. Produce was fresh from their garden and the cooking kitchen overlooked another amazing view. I highly recommend this rental, the cooking class and the restaurant.
Beautiful Apartment on the Coast!
We just got back from the Amalfi coast, we spent one week in the Rosa Blu apartment, first of all, the apartment is super clean, well kept and the pictures reflect the reality. The lay out allows to accommodate 4 people with privacy as each room has its ensuite bathroom. This is a great grocery store few meters away. Caterina is a great host and always willing to help. The only thing is that Furore is higher on the coast (compare to Praiano) thus makes it not as convenient to visit if you dont have a car or scooter. The Sita bus works pretty well during the day but at night the service ends around 9 and beware the taxi fares are beyond expensive ($50 euros from Amalfi!! No uber in Italy).
Furore is one of the most picturesque villages of the Amalfi Coast, a corner of paradise nestled between sea and mountains, the main attraction of this country is its powerful and ostentatious beauty. Since 1997 it has become part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Furore offers its guests the beauty of an uncontaminated reality because far from the chaos and smog of the big cities, suitable for those who want to spend a holiday of relaxation and quiet. Who comes in sight in Furore can not but admire the beauty of its Fiordo, one of the most picturesque and evocative of Italy, has always represented a natural harbor where they developed the oldest forms of industrial activities such as paper mills and mills. The Fiord of Furore, deep rift in the rock, at the mouth of a ravine overhanging the sea, where in the past a tiny and characteristic fishing village was gathered. Overtaken by the State Road through a 30-meter suspension bridge, on the first Sunday of July there is a stage of the Marmeeting, the World Championship of Diving from great heights, over the years this event has managed to assert itself attracting countless visitors. Singular is the "en plein air" art gallery consisting of "author's walls", murals and sculptures that make Furore a "painted village" in fact covering the whole stretch of road that crosses the town, you can admire the murals that have been frescoed on the walls of houses and / or terraces, as appropriate; to date there are about fifty, and from year to year are added. Another attraction is La Balconata Furitana, a special and unique event that unites art, culture, food and wine shows and solidarity in the enchanting village of Furore. Home to all events is the Church of Santa Maria, home to an ancient fraternity of the most important and prestigious of Furore, the Church also includes the pre-Napoleonic cemetery and the Oratory of the Immaculate. La Balconata Furitana is a journey of discovery of unknown cultural and artistic treasures, with the main objective of enhancing these beauties, offering top quality tourist and gastronomic itineraries. Finally, the last stop not to be missed is the Marisa Cuomo Cellars, whose excellent wines have been successful for years worldwide. Do not miss the guided tour of the cellar carved into the rock, a fascinating place unique in its kind and its spectacular vineyards where the grapes grows clinging to the rock exposed to the magical action of the sea and the sun of the Amalfi Coast. The visit ends with an excellent gastronomic tasting where you can taste all the typical local products.
