The Living Room and basement family room features large LED HD TVs with Blue Ray players. Numerous books, games, puzzles and toys are available for our guests use. Along with 3 bedrooms, the 2nd story provides a common media room where you can catch up on emails using our high-speed, secure wireless network, watch TV, or read a good book!
After a long day sight seeing, enjoy a family meal around the table in the kitchen, or a more formal affair in the separate dining room which easily seats 8 or more.
Washer and dryer, including laundry soap, are available for guest use. We also provide a Pack N Play and booster seat for families with young ones. A lovely backyard deck and large BBQ grill is ideal for outdoor entertaining in the summer.
Our guest house is perfectly situated to allow easy access to DC's and Virginia's finest attractions. Several DC Metro stations, with ample parking, are within a 4-5 mile radius. The I-395 and I-495/95 are less than two miles away for quick access downtown or to all parts of Virginia and Maryland.

About Mark Bodycombe
Kathy and I moved to Virginia in 2007 for me to finish out my federal career and work a short second career in private industry. We thoroughly enjoyed living in our home in Springfield and enjoying all that the Washington DC and Northern Virginia areas have to offer. It was especially wonderful being near our daughter's family and our three grand children who live nearby! Having recently retired, we moved back to our long-time home in southern California. We now enjoy enabling our guests at the Spring Guest House to enjoy our house, and the surrounding area, as much as we did!
Mark Bodycombe purchased this Townhome in 2007
Why Mark Bodycombe chose North Springfield
We bought this home because of the wonderful neighborhood, the quality construction, and the location - not being in Washington DC per se, but being close enough that working or playing, we could easily get into the city anytime we wanted. We also enjoyed the ease of townhouse living, especially an end unit, with the feel of a single family home, but not the upkeep of a large yard, etc. We've never had any noise related concerns with the neighbors we share one wall of our home with.
What makes this Townhome unique
Spring Guest House is meant to be your home away from home. It offers a thoughtful combination of comfort, charm and quality. It is set in a quiet, safe residential neighborhood and has ample shopping and restaurants within a very short distance. It is readily accessible to the Washington Metro system as well as two major highways, including the I-395 which can have you downtown in 20 minutes.

Relaxing home after long days walking DC
We really enjoyed coming back to the house after spending 4 days walking around sightseeing in DC. It was so nice to have a home instead of a hotel room. The house was clean and spacious. Our daughter's family of 6 slept upstairs in the 3 bedrooms and grandma and grandpa slept in the basement. Our bed was extremely comfortable. We grilled out one night and the grandkids kicked around a soccer ball in the side yard to burn off a little energy. We cooked at home all but 1 night and the kitchen easily met our needs. Mark and Kathy were great to work with and very helpful with sight-seeing hints as well as the metro. We are from rural Indiana and public transportation is not something we deal with, but they gave us the information to make it easy to connect. We really enjoyed our vacation and as our 5 year old grandson said, "We made a lot of great memories"
Our family just checked out of this home today. We were in town for 4 days for our daughters wedding. The location was perfect for our needs. Our sons family toured while we prepared for the wedding. The home was so clean, perfectly stocked and large enough to spread out in. Just a lovely home. We hope to return someday. Everyone loved it. Just like home or better!! Great communication from Mark and Kathy too.
Perfect for our group of 9
Our stay at the Spring Guest House worked out perfectly. We wanted to see the sights in DC and also had a Marine Officer Commissioning to attend in Quantico, VA. We were a group of nine that included three generations. Lots of spaces and extra beds were essential and the house fit the bill perfectly. The layout worked extremely well with room for us to gather together or get away (take your pick). Parking was easy, and access of the Interstate made it quick to get around. Mark stayed in contact leading up to the visit, checked in with us while we were there, and then touched base after our stay. We didn't have any issues, so we didn't need to connect while we were visiting.
We spent three nights in the house and were completely satisfied.
Hi Kelly - thanks so much for choosing our home for your stay, and the very kind review. We work very hard to make our guest's stays as pleasant and easy as possible. Your family was wonderful and we'd love to see you again if you get back to the DC area.

Beautiful, well-kept rental!
We had the pleasure of staying here during our visit to DC this past week. I have to say that this rental made our stay even more enjoyable. Even though we lost power for 1 1/2 days due to high winds, Mark was very accommodating, sympathetic, helpful and more than willing to assist us during this time. There were 8 of us (4 adults, 4 children) during the stay, and there was more than enough room for all. The place was well-kept and well worth the money. We had family staying in the area at another rental, and I have to say that this place was 10 times nicer. So thankful for all of the true reviews, as that's what we base our choice of rentals on. Thank you to Mark and his wife for being considerate when we had no power or heat. They were willing to reimburse us one night's stay so we could stay in a hotel, even though the loss of power was out of their control. Thanks again!
Thank you, Laureen, for the very kind review! We're so happy your trip ended up well for your family despite the inclement weather and serious inconvenience of an extended power outage. You all were patient and troopers in dealing with it all! Please consider us again if you get back to the DC area.

Perfect place for families
My family and I had a graduation to attend and a short time for visiting DC. We all absolutely loved the Spring House. We had plenty of room and the home was so clean and comfortable. Before our visit Mark sent me information and tips on the area. The only problem was we did not have a long enough stay! We are planning to return later this year for a longer visit and no question we will reserve this beautiful home again!
Thanks, Angela! We were very pleased to have you and your family at our home and look forward to your next visit! As you discovered, there are so many interesting things to do in the DC area!

All the comforts of home
The decor inside this large townhouse was very nice. It was clean and comfortable and had a supermarket a couple blocks away. The owner, Mark, was always accessible via phone when I needed him and the close proximity to Arlington and DC was a huge plus.
Hi Toni - thanks so much for the kind review and we’re so happy that you had some really meaningful family events and some time to see the area as well. Would love to see you again if you get back to the area!

There really is no place like Washington DC in the world. The collection of world-class museums featuring some of the world's best art, science and portrayals of national and world history is unprecedented! The numerous memorials commemorating historic and important people and events in US history are not to miss. As the seat of our country's government, there are countless opportunities to visit, learn about and experience important federal facilities including the White House, Capitol, FBI, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Library of Congress, and many more! The Washington metro area is also home to the most diverse population in the USA. As a result, there are countless opportunities to experience foreign cuisines and cultures in a way not possible in any other US city. Despite being a major metropolitan area, there are many outdoor activities to take part in including excellent biking, water sports, hiking, white water rafting, skiing, and exploring the Shenandoah National Park. Virginia also has a burgeoning wine business exemplified by some very good wineries you can easily visit on a day trip to the more rural parts of the state. Other very popular attractions are close enough to access on a day trip, including Williamsburg, King's Dominion theme park, Annapolis, Baltimore's Inner Harbor, Gettysburg, and the Chesapeake Bay.
