About the property

5 Bedroom house, Bunkhouse, Pacific yurt, Pool and Pool House, 2 hot tubs, sauna

Kick off your shoes and relax at a spacious vacation home in the woods. To get to this secluded property you do have to drive on a gravel road. It is a bit bumpy but relax, drive slowly and enjoy your ride through the woods. Once you have arrived you may not want to leave. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch in the morning and listen to the birds sing and watch the deer in the yard. If it is a chilly fall or winter month enjoy your cup of coffee or hot chocolate in the living room in front of the fireplace. There are many ways to spend your day - relaxing by the pool, hiking in the woods or fishing in the pond. For the kids - there are 2 outdoor play areas with swings, slides, a climbing rope and more. Also, there is a game room at the main house with a ping-pong table, air hockey table and a hoop shoot. If you are looking for some quiet time, there are 3 televisions, each with a DVD player, in the house and an extensive collection of DVDs. There is a Wii game system. There are lots of books and magazines available and plenty of spaces in the house for reading and/or napping. There are games for the entire family and toys for the kids. Pool season is May 12 through October 2. The pool has a large deck with a hot tub and a pool house. The pool has a waterfall and there is a good supply of pool toys. There are lots of tables and chairs to relax in. The pool house has two full bathrooms with pool towels. In the pool house there is a small refrigerator and a microwave you can use for snacks and cold drinks. The pool house also has an infrared sauna. After a full day of relaxing and having fun, use one of the 3 grills (1 at the house and 2 on the pool deck) to cook a delicious dinner. When evening comes, sit in rocking chairs on the porch, watch the sunset, soak in one of the two hot tubs or relax in the sauna. Then as night falls, sit around a campfire and look at the stars. The night sky is amazing. Sleep well. Great for family reunions or a romantic weekend get away. The main house sleeps 12 with additional sleeping accommodations in the bunkhouse and the yurt (additional charge for bunkhouse ($100.00 per night) and/or yurt ($80.00 per night)). Upstairs in the bunkhouse there is a room with 4 bunk beds (8 single beds). That room has a heat and air unit which keeps that room at a comfortable temperature no matter what time of year. Downstairs in the bunkhouse there is a half bath. Guests who stay in the bunkhouse can use the showers in the main house or in the pool house. Also downstairs in the bunkhouse there is a kitchen area with a full size refrigerator (nice for large groups to have an extra refrigerator to use to store food). Also in the bunkhouse kitchen area there is a microwave for late night snacks for those folks sleeping in the bunkhouse. The yurt has 5 sleeping cots. It also has a small refrigerator. The property has a lot to offer - be sure to look at all the photos. This is a perfect place to settle in. However, if you are up for an adventure, there are many places to see and things to do in Northwest Arkansas. Fayetteville, the home of the University of Arkansas and the Razorbacks is an easy drive - 30 minutes away. Fayetteville has many fine dining restaurants and also is home to the Walton Arts Center which hosts many cultural events. Bentonville, where the world famous Crystal Bridges Museum is located, is less than an hour away. Close by Crystal Bridges is a dynamic new children's museum - Amazeum. Welcome.

Idyllic Vacation Home in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

We had an enjoyable stay in December 2016. The home was beautiful, comfortable and well organized. We had 9 adults and 1 baby (crib and high chair was provided). The rooms were clean, neat and bed linens/towels in place for everyone. The master bedroom was downstairs which is ideal for older parents and also a room with a pull out bed. The upstairs had 4 twin beds and 2 queen size beds. The living room and kitchen accommodated everyone with a wood burning fireplace (cut wood was provided). It was clear that the owners had put a lot of work into the house and everything was tastefully done with our comfort in mind. The kitchen was well stocked and very workable for a large group of people. It would be wonderful to come back when the weather was warmer to enjoy the outdoors more and the pool. I would highly recommend this rental.

Southern Hospitality at its Finest!

  • 5 of 5

A bend over backwards to accommodate the most minute of requests. Well organized, uncomplicated and meticulous in their planning, our hosts made everything easy and turn-key. The drive to the house is your first clue that nature abounds all around you with authenticity and a sense of relaxing separation from the world's troubles. The home was well appointed, the fireplace fantastic and our needs were precious few. Coupled with entertaining amenities, our stay was all we wished for. Definitely will come back, but for a longer stay next time!

More than Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The middle of October in The Ozarks is spectacular. And our stay at The Lodge at Winslow was the perfect spot to view the colors, experience the wilderness, relax and soak in the pristine environment. This was such a perfect spot. We had a family reunion, 13 of us and couldn't have felt more taken care of. Despite the number in our family we always felt we could get away to a private spot, inside or out. Thank you, we can't express to you, Ira & Sherry, how much we enjoyed our stay. And we will be back!

We will be back

  • 5 of 5

This is a gem of a vacation property. Awesome swimming pool with two hot tubs and all kinds of water toys for all ages. The kitchen was more than fully stocked. We did not rent the bunk house so didn't get to see that part. The property is really in the middle of nowhere. If you want to be really out in the woods, this is the place to be. Although, we had phone reception at all times. Excellent game room. There is a nice picnic area in the middle of the house and the pool where we had a little bonfire. That place can be used for camping as well.

We will definitely be back. Thank you Sherry and Ira.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house and property! The house was perfectly set up for several people/couples/families to come together to celebrate a 50th birthday. Half the group enjoyed Devil's Den State Park hiking trails while the other half enjoyed the pool/hot tub/sauna and pond areas. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed to make all our meals and live comfortably at the house for several days - multiple fridges, washer/dryer, 2 grills, a smoker, TV's, DVD players, rec room with several games, lots of towels, convenient trash and recycling, bug spray, flashlights - to mention just a few. Several guests mentioned they might rent this property in the future. Thanks to Sherry and Ira for making our stay perfect.

Best Vacation Home...Ever!

  • 5 of 5

Sherry and Ira's vacation rental is absolutely fabulous. I planned a 1st family reunion for my siblings and our offspring. I live in California so it was a big undertaking to rent a property sight unseen, out of state and plan all the details. Sherry and Ira were so patient with my 1000's of questions. When we arrived at the property it was even better than the pictures. The whole family had a wonderful time! All enjoyed the pool, the thunder storms, the enclosed back porch, the extra tables and chairs and of course the garage playroom. Our group included family from 2 months old to 79 years. What a nice surprise to find pack n plays and high chairs. The bunkhouse was great for our boys (children & adults) They could be a messy as they want and no mom went out to say "clean up" until the very last day. Everyone made comments on the quality of the home, towels, pool towels, just everything. Everyone wants to return again next year! My only suggestions were to have an extra fridge in the garage (the bunkhouse was a little far when preparing meals but we managed) and maybe a commercial ice maker. Thank you Sherry and Ira!

We are located out in the country. This is a place to unwind and unplug. See lots of wildlife, fish in the pond, hike in the woods or if the season is right hang out by the pool. Any season is right for hanging out in the hot tub(s). If and when you do want to leave the valley, visit Northwest Arkansas. Fayetteville (about 30 minutes away) is a lovely university town with a lot to see and do - fine restaurants, theatres and movies. Visit Bentonville (about 50 minutes away), the home of Walmart and now the world renowned Crystal Bridges Museum. We are close to two beautiful state parks - Devil's Den and Lake Fort Smith. We are in the Ozark Mountains - a beautiful area in all four seasons.
