This cozy condo is located in the Treehouse complex in the Wildernest area of Silverthorne, Colorado, just 70 miles from Denver. The well appointed unit has great views of the surrounding mountains, Lake Dillon and Keystone Resort. It is easily accessible from Interstate 70, only 70 miles from downtown Denver, and a convenient hub for reaching any of the seven world class ski areas and resorts nearby. Copper Mountain, Keystone Resort and Loveland Ski area are all within a 10 minute drive and just 30 miles to Vail. The Treehouse complex is just two and a half miles off the the Dillon-Silverthorne exit of I-70 and is located on the free shuttle route. Large living area with wood fireplace and deck. Incredible amenities including pools, hot tubs, tennis, racquetball, game room, on site laundry & more. One bedroom is a queen bed with vanity/sink and closet. Second bedroom with queen bunk beds and full closet. Queen sleeper sofa in living room as well. Internet included.
This condo was a great spot to stay for our spring ski trip. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us and met all of our needs. The sofas and beds were all very comfortable and the atmosphere is cozy and homey, but the kitchen appliances are all fairly recent and cabinets were fully stocked - there's even a slow cooker. This is a winning combination in my book - this condo provided everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Overall, this condo was the best option for our trip because of the combination of amenities and value.
I definitely recommend staying in Silverthorne as a more value-geared alternative to Breck or Keystone - this location puts you just a stone's throw from both, as well as many other ski destinations. I also can't speak highly enough about the owner, Alison - her responses were always prompt, kind and helpful. She made the entire process simple and hassle free, which I greatly appreciate.
Lastly, as a side note, I do highly recommend 4x4/AWD to reach the property during snowy or icy weather. During our stay, several smaller vehicles struggled to climb the hill in blizzard conditions. Just something to be aware of when making your travel arrangements and really something that applies to this entire area.
We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. Alison was so nice with quick communication. She even provided a pack & play with mattress & sheet for our baby. It is located high up on the mountain with a nice, winding drive through a nice neighborhood. If felt very safe. It had plenty of parking with a short walk up 2 ramps & 1 short set of stairs - kind of hard with the altitude but after a couple of days it got easier. The condo has a wood cabin feel, the beds were big & comfortable, cool ski photos & decor, flat screen TV with plenty of channels, nice bathroom & shower plus an extra sink & mirror in 1 of the bedrooms, which was a good surprise! There are sleds on the balcony (which we used at Carter Park in Breckenridge - Free & fun!) Full kitchen was great for fixing quick meals. Rec center with pool & 3 hot tubs was kind of loud & crowded when we went on a Saturday night but was nice. The location is awesome - close to Keystone and A. Basin and a short drive to Breckenridge. Target is nearby and does have groceries (or nearest grocery (Safeway) is in Frisco). Great restaurants (Dam Brewery) and plenty of fast food nearby. Overall we will be back - it was just what we needed: not too fancy but perfect for hanging out & getting some rest when you are not skiing.
