Open and efficient layout with kitchen, dining, living on main level. Walk out to the large, south facing deck from the kitchen or dining area. Deck is covered with sunshades and plenty of outdoor furniture in the summer. A stainless steel bbq is available year round. Jump straight into the hot tub from there! Relax in a hammock in the backyard, while the kids play on the zip-line. Laundry and guest room also on the main level. 2nd floor hosts the Master Suite (with steam shower), an office/bedroom, and another bedroom and bath. 3rd level has 2 bedrooms and a bath which services both. Plenty of parking in the driveway, and room for another car in the heated garage.
While maintaining its original 1904 charm, the entire house has been professionally remodeled from top to bottom, with a classy contemporary flair throughout. High-end and fun fixtures and furnishings adorn the home. A gas fireplace in the main living area adds warmth and ambiance to cool winter nights.
Two televisions, one on the main floor and one on the second floor with access to foreign TV channels and Netflix, respectively. Very good wifi signal throughout the home.

We chose this home once our second son was on his way.
Our first home in Steamboat was going to be too small and, even so we had built homes for ourselves before, we realized that this home had everything we wanted, and was in a location that is all but impossible to buy into.
The charm of the house speaks clearly, and spoke to us right away! It has a great feel to it, with tons of natural light. The house sits on a beautiful lot, with views to Mt Werner and Emerald Mountain. It's location makes it easy to enjoy all the amenities of downtown, with direct access to the outdoors!
This home had it all! Very comfortable for our family, and the location is excellent.
We enjoyed our stay in Steamboat this summer, and especially liked this property. We always like to stay near downtown, and the location of this home was perfect - close enough to walk to everything, yet far enough to get away from the traffic noise. We had our morning coffee and evening glass of wine or beer on the beautiful back deck. The house was comfortable and spacious, and we felt right at home. Even our dogs were welcomed by the neighborhood dogs!
We had an incredible summer staying in this home in downtown Steamboat Springs. It was outfitted with everything you could ever need (and more). The kitchen was completely stocked with supplies so we regularly cooked while enjoying the beautiful views and new deck overlooking the mountains in the backyard. We were close to everything so we hardly used our car as we biked to trails, restaurants, etc. It's a perfect house for a family as the backyard is huge and even has a zip line and small playhouse! The owners have young children as well so there were toys galore for my kids to enjoy. The owners were great to deal with and resolved any issues immediately. We stayed in the house for 5 weeks and at the end of our vacation nobody wanted to leave;) The one small caveat we would mention is the highest level (3rd level) where the kid's bedrooms are located can get a bit warm during the summer months but the owners were great and installed small portable A/C units so mine didn't complain.
Our Home, formerly the 'Melville Mansion', is luxury living in Downtown Steamboat. It is the place to be in both summer and winter. World class skiing is just minutes away, and world class mountain biking starts from the driveway. There are many lively and delicious restaurants an easy walk from the property, two of the best which are just a couple of blocks. There is plenty of room to park, but if you don't have a car, it's not a problem. Most shops and restaurants are within walking/riding distance, and there is a free bus service with a stop just down the street. The home feels very quiet and secluded, but really is in the heart of old town Steamboat.
