About Charl du Preez
Happy to call Cape Town my home after many years of being somewhat nomadic through Europe and the US. I've been settled here for 5 years now and it seems like this will be my last stop.
Charl du Preez purchased this Villa in 2010
Why Charl du Preez chose Bantry Bay
The Villa is spacious, secure and offers exceptional views with all the amenities you could want. The Villa is a home that has given me fond and gracious memories and I know that it will offer you great moments and memories during your stay. Enjoy the large terraces in the summer or snuggle up to one of the 2 wood fireplaces in the winter.
What makes this Villa unique
The Villa is perfectly nestled within the most affluent areas of Cape Town; a stone throw away form Clifton, Camps Bay, Table Mountain and the V&A waterfront with Lions Head practically in my back yard. The multi level Villa has superb Ocean and Mountain views with clear sight of Robben Island. It's safe and spacious with the least amount of wind in the area. Have a go at a game of pool or kick back in the reading room and enjoy the beautiful ocean views and fresh air. Live-in staff is available M-F to upkeep the exterior of the villa. Cleaning inside the villa can be arranged for an additional fee.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We loved this house, it definitely was as advertised on the website. Beautiful views with great location, really good WiFi which was essential for the kids. We also took advantage of Patrick and his van, which made things much more convenient.
As far as the negatives, we did have issues as the washing machine was not functional. To their credit, they took our clothes to a local laundry and covered costs. We also had issues with the power outlets tripping when more than one heater was being used; they would fix it on the circuit breaker, but it happened repeatedly. Finally, the driver & van were much more expensive than anticipated. I assumed it was R 80 per day based on an older review, but it was actually about R1,000 per day for the van & 300 per day for the driver. We found it was much easier and more convenient to use uber instead later. I didn’t get to meet Charl at all, but that was unavoidable as he was quite unwell at the time; despite that, he kept the lines of communication open online.
Overall we loved it and I would recommend it to anyone.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for the three couples. Good location with great views. Patrick took great care of us and was always ready to help in anyway. Definitely can recommend a stay here while in Cape Town.
Our stay ar Charl’s home in Bantry Bay was nothing like I have ever done before. Situated on top of the hill overlooking many other houses, you have an unobstructed view of the water. Lions head is right behind the home and a trail is close for perfect pictures. Charl was extremely helpful and thorough when planning for this trip! Patrick is the property manager and he is always around for transportation or a joke! I would 1000% recommend this to anyone visiting Capetown for the first time. I was hesitant about the security, but there is plenty of security stations in the neighborhood and a house alarm (which we found out works very well on accident :) )
I am so happy to hear that you had a great time and that your time with us here in Cape Town was everything you expected.
Thank you again for staying and regards to everyone.

Fabulous property, well maintained with everything you need.
Beautiful views out to the ocean from large and spacious balconies the villa is well located for trips to Cape Town itself and the local big attractions. We would have no hesitation in recommending you stay here.
Bantry Bay at its best. Stunning location. Super luxurious apartment.
Location brilliant facing the sea. Luxurious apartment what more would u need for a super holiday! Charlz was absolutely super from day of the booking to checkout. Facilities were absolutely super, could not have asked for more. We were thoroughly spoilt. Apartment was fully serviced with a beautiful kitchen with all the amenities you need for a self-catering holiday. Patrick was always available and most helpful.
i would recommend this apartment anytime for a super luxurious holiday in Cape Town.

Bantry Bay is an affluent suburb of Cape Town situated on the slopes of Lion's Head and overlooking a rocky coastline, Western Cape Province, South Africa. Its neighboring suburbs are Sea Point and Clifton. It was originally called Botany Bay after a botanical garden that was planted here for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. The name was changed during World War I.
It is overlooked by Lion's Head, which is an eroded outlier of sandstone. There is a plaque on the seashore that commemorates a visit by Charles Darwin, who made important geological observations here relating to the nature and origin of granite.
Bantry Bay is known to be the most wind-free area in Cape Town. Secluded & protected, the inhabitants of this exclusive area enjoy about 290 wind free days per year - a significant fact given Cape Town's windy climate.
Clifton is a stone throw away; an affluent suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is an exclusive residential area and is home to some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, with dwellings nestled on cliffs that have sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Clifton was rated as one of the Top Ten Beaches by the cable and satellite television network Discovery Travel Channel in 2003 and 2004 and has received Blue Flag status. In 2005 and 2006 it was rated by Forbes.com at number 8 in the Top 10 Topless beaches in the World. Clifton is neighbored by the suburbs of Camps Bay and Bantry Bay.
The V&A Waterfront is a mere 6km away and one of Cape Town's biggest tourist attractions, the Waterfront evokes images of the early activities of the harbour. Much of its charm lies in the fact that this busy commercial harbour is set in the midst of a huge entertainment venue with pubs, restaurants, specialty shops, craft markets, theatres and movies.
Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront has become South Africa's most visited destination. Set against a backdrop of magnificent sea and mountain views, exciting shopping and entertainment venues are intermingled with imaginative office locations, world-class hotels and luxury apartments in the residential marina. We invite you to discover the experience... live, work, shop and play at the V&A Waterfront.
Seal-watching is an amusing diversion. Visitors to the Two Oceans Aquarium will enjoy a fascinating underwater world. The Maritime Museum focuses on the history of shipping from prehistoric times to the present day. Boat trips around the harbour and along the coast are always popular. Helicopter flips provide a broader perspective. The Information Centre provides maps and information on special events planned for the day.
