Great old house!

  • 5 of 5

There were 10 of us and the house never felt crowded. Kitchen works great for large crowds. We will be back!

Warm, cozy home

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days, 4 nights in this lovely house. There were 4 couples and everyone had a comfy bed and bathroom access. Centrally located, and the town of Madrona was so quaint and the restaurants were delicious. Such a nice vacation to be able to all stay together.

Great location - relaxing and roomy

  • 5 of 5

Great location! We were a group of 10 and the house easily worked for all of us. Neat, clean and appointed with all the amenities we needed. Walking distance to a perfect little community center complete with dining, coffee, ice cream and friendly people. Would definitely rent this house again.

Perfect home for our family gathering

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect home for our family gathering. 3 generations stayed together for a family wedding in Seattle. We were close to the downtown venue and where everyone else was staying but it felt like a world away in a pretty and quiet neighborhood. The nursery was great, with extras like a stroller, high chair and changing table, making the day for our toddler's mom. The kitchen was well-stocked. Loved the cute backyard with good fencing to keep young ones from running into the street. Beds were comfortable. My husband enjoyed a run on paths going by Lake Washington. The big basement with a ping pong table was a nice separate place for the young adults. Lots to like in this house!

Great place for family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this home for the first Seahawks' game. We met my inlaws, brother & sis in law and their two boys, plus had our two babies with us. The house is PERFECT for a family retreat in Seattle. There are two bedrooms downstairs (plus a bath), then three bedrooms (two additional bathrooms) and a nursery upstairs. I cannot tell you how nice it was to have a crib and changing table included during travel! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need--and I actually ordered groceries online from Safeway and had them delivered to us the day we arrived...so convenient! Also, we were within walking distance to an amazing coffee shop, cute wine bar, restaurants (we ate at St. Clouds and Madrona Arms Pub), a cupcake shop, and the most adorable ice cream shop that has (hands down) the best salted caramel ice cream AND they make their waffle cones fresh every day. SO.GOOD. The only items to note: no AC...it wasn't terrible, but we did sleep with windows open a few nights, very steep stairs (again, not a deal breaker but with small kids it's good to note that they steeper than you are used to), master bathroom vanity plug is actually inside the cabinet (I looked all around and couldn't find somewhere to plug in my hairdryer, then day 2 I finally found it), tight parking in the driveway...but the street was always open right outside of the house. Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about the home. It's the perfect distance from the city (10-15 minutes away in an Uber and only $10-15 to get there) and there is enough to do in Madrona that you don't have to leave. It was also perfect for a family with kids to walk out the front door and have options for dinner and access to coffee in the am. We will definitely be back to this property and highly recommend! Kudos to the owners for creating such a dream rental property!

Overall good impression. I would stay again.

  • 4 of 5

Overall I enjoyed my stay there. The house is older than what I imagined it would be. However the house is nicely updated. The house is within walking distance to really good restaurants. Every restaurant I tried within walking distance was great. The house had everything I needed. It was nice to have a nursery for my 7 month old daughter. I would suggest getting a headboard for one of the beds that didn't have one. Also the house had a smell when we walked in the first time. I would suggest having someone come by before guests arrive to air out the house. It would have been nice if the garage was available to park in. I wasn't comfortable parking on the street. I saw many cars parked on the street that were broken into.

Owner's Response: I thank my guest for the postive review and understand their concern about auto breakins. That being said we do live in the city and while uncommon break-ins are rare. Certainly if you don't leave any valuables in the car the chances of a breakin are remote. This is a very safe neighborhood. As mentioned by my guest they were many great eateries and parks within a few block walk making this a wonderful family vacation spot.
