History is rich in our area with the wagon box fight site, conner battle field, fort phil kearny, crazy woman battlefield, fetterman battlefield site, and the bozeman trail, just to name a few. An hour and one half drive north is historic garryowen montana, where a visitor can see and tour the custer battlefield and musuem. Just south of the crazy p ranch is kaycee wyoming which was the home of many outlaws and renegades. It is called 'hole in the wall' country, hideout of the legendary butch cassidy and the sundance kid and the rest of the hole in the wall gang. A day could include visiting the outlaw cave, the indian art rock caves, kaycee's hoofprints of the past musuem, and the chris ledoux memorial park with the life and one half broze sculpture of the legendary ledoux, a country singer and world champion bareback bronc rider done by d. Michael thomas, buffalo's award winning artist. After a full day of adventures, sit on our front porch and watch the sun set over the mountains.

There are also plenty of local streams such as the powder river, crazy woman creek, and the alpine lakes and streams of the big horn national forest.
The crazy p ranch is also a game bird farm that release pheasants every year to populate the area and for hunters to enjoy during the season.

Buffalo and its surrounding area is truely a western jem and the cabin at the crazy p ranch is a place to retreat from life's hectic pace. The moment you arrive and shut your car door, you will be taken by the solitude.
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We bought this property without a cabin on it years ago and built it from the ground up for our family. Over the years we have improved it by renovating a historic guest cabin that was built during the time of the old west, manicured the landscape and created a game bird farm for hunters to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose Buffalo, WY, USA:
This property is close to the charming Old West town of Buffalo. The cabin is in a secluded area with plenty of wildlife. It is also close to the Crazy Woman Canyon Rd where we have direct access to the top of the Big Horn Mountains.
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
The cabin is so cozy and private. Sitting on the terrace at sunset or in the early morning is incredible with the Crazy Woman Peeks changing from lavender to orange then pink. You can watch the wildlife feed in the fields either sitting on the terrace or in the living room or even from your bedroom! In the summer months the antelope and deer babies are fun to see sticking right by their moms. A pheasant hen may walk right by the cabin with her chicks following. The nights are so dark and stars so clear to view, as there is no light pollution. The loft is a great place to go read or watch tv.
