Had a great stay at this house. It has a lot of room for a family with plenty of space in the living room and sleeping areas for a group. It was clean, everything seems to work fine and the kitchen was well stocked. The location is excellent too it is on a quiet dead end street, has pretty landscaping and is not too close to neighbors. It is a short drive or easy bike ride to the South Cape Beach. This beach has soft sand, small waves, and is not too crowded so there is space to claim as your own. Really enjoyed the Mashpee Commons it had a ton of neat shops where you can spend hours just browsing, a movie theater, restaurants, and I think I even saw a place to bowl. Don't miss Cupcake Charlies and the candy store a few doors down for a sweet treat. There are plenty of neat spots to see at this end of the Cape so definitely get some of those free Cape guides and start to explore and enjoy!
South Cape Beach in Mashpee is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape where you can watch the ferries leaving Woods Hole going over to the Islands. Mashpee Commons has many upscale shops, great restaurants and a movie theater. Mashpee is home to the Wampanoag Tribe who hold their annual Pow Wow at the Barnstable Fairgrounds on Route 151 around the first week or so in July.
Great for rainy days is the Cape Cod Childrens Museum in Mashpee and the Aquarium at Woods Hole in Falmouth.
Sandwich offers the Heritage Museum and Gardens which includes galleries, a vintage carousel and an automobile museum. The gardens offer more than a thousand varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers and truly is beautiful. The Daniel Webster Inn is also located in Sandwich. Be sure to ask to be seated in the Conservatory for garden or moon lit dining.
Historic Route 6A is a short drive away and offers many antique shops and shows you what 'Old Cape Cod' really looked like.
Whale Watching is close by at Barnstable Harbor or enjoy a great meal over looking the harbor at Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant.
Hyannis has a great main street with many stores, restaurants and the JFK Museum. Plenty of free parking behind main street. Hyannis is also home to the famous Cape Cod Potato Chips and the factory offers free self guided tours.
